Me, Chris, and Gordie were back at the treehouse, looking at the town. "I'm never gonna get out of this town, am I guys?" He asked us. "You can do anything you want," I reassured him. "Yeah. Sure," He scoffed. "Give me some skin?" He skinned it with me and Gordie. "Oh, just so you know, I do know what you guys did back at the campsite!" Gordie said softly with a wide grinned. I punched him lightly. "You better shut up man!" I threatened jokingly. Chris laughed. "I'll see you guys," Gordie smiled. "Not if we see you first," Chris smiled back. Gordie walked off. "Well I'll see you, Y/N," He smiled and walked away. "Hey Chris!" I ran to him and gave him a quick kiss. "I love you!" I said, my cheeks blushing. "I love you too Y/N," He grinned at me.
Chris did eventually get out. So did I. He enrolled in the college courses with me and Gordie. And although it was hard, he gutted it out like he always did. That's Chris. He went on to college became a lawyer (you know how he made the best peace). Married to me. We traveled the world for a while and then eventually settled in a small town called Gretna. We dont have any kids. We were gonna get to that later, until...
Last week, he entered a restaurant. Just ahead of him, two men got in a argument. One of them pulled out a knife. Chris, who would always make the best peace, tried to break it up. He was stabbed in the throat. He died almost instantly.
I'm heartbroken, obviously. This was hard for me to write, because all I could think about was him. But I did this for him. When I was younger, as you read, I was into art. Not writing. Actually, I'm an artist. Chris pushed me into it. Well, the reason I'm writing this and not Gordie, is because he died. He died 6 years ago in a car wreck. He would've wanted me to write this, since he couldn't.
Although I hadn't seen any of my other friends in 10 years, I know I'll miss them forever. I never had any friends later on, like the ones I had at twelve! Jesus! Does anyone?
