^^^listen to the song while you read^^^

At least 15 minutes later we were singing, "Have gun will travel reads the card of a man! A knight without armor in a savage land! His fast gun for hire heeds the calling wind a soldier a fortune is a man called, PALADIN!" We stopped singing but Teddy continued the song on behind us.
Chris pulled out his canteen and took a sip. "We have to fill up at the junkyard. My dad said it's a safe well," Gordie said looking at Chris. "Not if Chopper's there," I heard Vern mumble behind us. "If Chopper's there we'll send you in first!" Chris teased. "Haha very funny," Vern said annoyed.
I really did feel bad for the kid. Having everyone pick on you. I mean sure, sometimes he could be annoying and was a little dumb but he never deserved being teased all the time.
I slumped my arm around his shoulders. He looked back at me and we smiled at each other.
Teddy finished the song and there was silence for a little. "Hey, I'm getting kinda hungry. Who's got the food?" Vern asked. We all stopped in our tracks and turned around. "Not me. Gordie?" Chris asked. Gordie looked down and nodded his head. "Well this is great! What are we supposed to do? Eat our feet?" Teddy asked sarcastically. "You mean you didn't bring anything either?" Chris asked. "Well shit! This wasn't my idea, this was Vern's idea! Why didn't you bring anything?" Teddy shouted. "What am I supposed to do? Think of everything? I brought the comb!" Vern fought back. "Oh great! You brought a comb! What do you need a comb for? You don't even have any hair!" Teddy shouted back. "I brought it for you guys!"
I hadn't said anything throughout this argument because I hated it when we fought. I finally chipped in ending the argument. "Hey hey! Let's see how much money we got," I said to the boys smiling.
We all slung are sleeping bags off and sat down. "Yeah I got a $1.02, 68 cents from Chris, 60 cents from Teddy, $2.00 from Y/N," Gordie said out loud counting the money. We all looked and Vern and he handed his change to Gordie cautiously. Gordie paused for a moment and finally asked, " 7 cents Vern?" "I haven't found my pennies yet!" He said defending himself.
I hated Vern getting made fun of but he was always giving the boys new things to pick on him about.
"Well $4.37 not bad," I told them. "Yeah, Quidaciolous is at the end of that little road than goes by the junkyard, I think we can get some stuff there," Gordie told us. We all nodded in agreement.
"Train coming," Chris said, standing up. I got up and stumbled a little on the track but Chris put his hand on my shoulder and smiled.
"Geronimo!" Vern said as he jumped off of the tracks. We were all off of the tracks except Teddy. "C'mon Teddy," Chris said. "No, I'm gonna dodge it," Teddy said in a dazed look as he threw his sleeping bag off the tracks.
As you could probably tell I was very worried. He had very poor eyesight so he could fuck up if the train was closer or farther. He also had very poor hearing due to his father burning his ear on a stove.
"C'mon Teddy, man, get off the tracks! You're crazy!" Chris insisted. "Train dodge. Dig it," He said in a haze.
The train got closer and closer. "Get the hell off the tracks Teddy! You wanna get yourself killed?" Chris said angrily. "Just like the beach at Normandy," Teddy said as he made a shooting noise with his hand.
The rest was a blur for me. Teddy was my best friend and I couldn't comprehend what he was doing. He always stuck to just dodging cars that went down the road and even then I didn't like it. He was crazy.
I heard the boys yelling and felt a warm tear fall off of my face. Chris and Teddy were skinning it once I got back to reality.
We started walking again and I walked up to Teddy. "Fuck you!" I said hitting him and crying. "You're so crazy! Why would you do that?" The other guys turned around and looked at me. Teddy just looked at me without saying a word. None of the other guys said anything either.
I just started walking again and the guys followed.
