Chapter - 13

Aarushi slapped him hard on his face. Ahaan didn't react to it.

"How dare you say this to me?" asked Aarushi.

"I don't have to be afraid of anyone to say this to you," replied Ahaan.

She was getting angrier. She told herself not to cry.

"I know you are lying. Tell me what's the matter Ahaan."

"I am not lying Aarushi. I mean it."

"What do you mean by that? How can you say this simply? You know how much it hurts me?"

"I thought for a long time and made this decision. Let's break up."

Aarushi felt something sharp piercing her heart and breaking it into pieces. She bit her lower lip to prevent herself from sobbing. Ahaan looked away not able to face her.

For some time, they didn't talk. They just listened to the sound of the waves kissing the shore. Aarushi calmed herself down and looked straight at his eyes.

"Listen to me Ahaan. Our medical profession is very challenging. We may lose confidence in ourselves if we don't get the result we wanted. If you are facing any kind of pressure, I suggest you take a break. It will heal you. I mean do something which can provide you relaxation. Don't tell this nonsense."

"No no, I can't...I can't. I can't lie to her. Oh God, why I have to go through this. Please give me some courage." Ahaan spoke to himself.

"Nonsense? It's not a nonsense thing Aarushi. It's true that I used to love you a lot but now I think we need to part away. We can't move forward together."

"WHAT THE HELL MADE YOU TO THINK LIKE THIS AHAAN OBEROI. TELL ME." shouted Aarushi.

The people around them were startled to hear her voice and stared at them. But this didn't embarrass them.

"No need to shout. I can hear you clearly. Talk softly." said Ahaan.

"Ok tell me the exact cause for this sudden breakup. Your parents don't like me? Or did my parents say anything to you?"

Ahaan realised that he cannot give correct answers to her questions. Their relationship is the only reason but it can't be revealed to her. He got up from his placed and walked towards the sea. Aarushi followed him.

"They have nothing to do with this. It's my decision only. And I can't tell you the reason. It's a secret and it should be kept as it is." said Ahaan.

"What is this big secret? If it is related to me, then I have the full right to know it. And you have to tell me. Otherwise, I won't leave."

Ahaan lost his control. He shouted at her.

"THEN YOU STAY HERE. DON'T LEAVE. BUT I WON'T TELL YOU THE REASON. DON'T FORCE ME AARUSHI. I HAVE ALREADY DECIDED... AND NOW YOU ARE NOT MY LOVE...YOU ARE OUT OF MY LIFE... FOREVER... UNDERSTOOD?"

This was enough for Aarushi. She realised that she is nothing to him now. A teardrop flowed down and she tried to hold back.

"Ok... Ok... if you think I am out of your life, then I won't stay here anymore. I am going. Going away from you. You...you are the biggest mistake in my life, Mr Ahaan Oberoi. You showed your real attitude today. I am going. Bye." said Aarushi in one breath.

Ahaan made a fist and bit his lower lip to control his emotions. He shouldn't break down in front of her. Aarushi turns to go but stopped to tell him something.
