Chapter - 14

"Then...?"

Ahaan turned his head and looked at Pallavi. She was totally devastated.

"Everything was peaceful after that. First I was hesitant to speak to my parents like before. I distanced myself from them. But then I thought that it's not their fault also. So slowly I started to be the Ahaan who didn't miss a single minute to be with his parents. I tried to cheer them up coz they were disappointed about the incident. And now we are having a normal life."

"Any news about Aarushi and her parents?"

"No Pallavi. As I told you I broke all connections with them. I told my parents about their disappearance years before and my mother told me to leave it. She said that whatever happened in our past can't be changed. It's better to forget it and move on."

Pallavi sighed. Ahaan sat on the chair opposite to her. He looked at the teacups.

"We both forgot about this. I think it's cold now. I will make another."

"No Ahaan. It's ok. Sorry about it. I..."

"Hey, it's alright. No need to say sorry."

Ahaan noticed Pallavi for a couple of seconds. She was lost somewhere.

"You have anything to ask more?"

"Yeah...I mean few more questions are there but I...I am not in a mood to ask you. I am extremely sorry but if you don't mind, can I come another day?" asked Pallavi.

"I know my broken love story shocked you a lot. If you are not comfortable now, you come later. Tomorrow also I am free."

She closed the notepad and kept it inside her bag along with her phone. She stood up to leave.

"Just one more question for today. Can I?"

"Sure..."

"You just told me that you will tell the incident when I asked you one question about the challenging..."

Ahaan thought for a second.

"Oh, that one. The medical profession is very challenging but for me, the most challenging part of my life was to separate myself from Aarushi. I haven't faced such a terrible thing in my life. But she still has a place in my heart. The special person in my life. Nobody will get that place."

"Oh, then what about your future wife?"

"She will be my partner, friend, my comfort zone till my last breath. But sadly I haven't got one."

Both of them laughed.

They both went down together.

"So bye Ahaan. I will call you today. Sorry for the..."

"I told you not to say sorry. You call me and then we will fix the time. And don't worry about your boss. I will talk to him. You just tell him that I had an emergency so I went to the hospital. The rest I will deal. Happy now?"

She smiled and he opened the door for her. She thanked him and got inside the car. Just then a black car arrived there and two people got down from it. Ahaan smiled seeing them.

"Pallavi that's my mom and dad."

She stepped out and walked towards them with Ahaan.

"Mom dad this is Pallavi. I told you know one person will come to take my interview."
