"Doctor the pulse is going down..." cried the nurse.

"OH GOD! Take the defibrillator. IMMEDIATELY."

The nurse did as said.

"Dr Mishti, call Dr Sumit. Tell him to come fast."

Ahaan took the pad and rubbed it. He looked at the nurse.

"Ready?"

"Yes, doctor."

"Ok charge."

Ahaan placed the pads on the patient's chest and the nurse pressed the button. The patient responded to the shock. Ahaan checked the variation but it remained the same.

"Charge again..."

But this time also there wasn't any change. Ahaan started to panic. Dr Sumit came there.

"Ahaan how is the condition?"

"He is not responding doctor. I want him back."

Ahaan instructed the nurse to charge again. She did as he said.

This time the patient's cardiac rhythm stabilized. Ahaan breathed a huge sigh of relief.

"I will give the CPR," said Dr Sumit.

Ahaan moved aside. He thanked God that moment. Another doctor patted his back.

"Good job doc."

"Thank you."

"Dr Ahaan he is coming back. No need to worry."

Dr Sumit's words brought a bright smile on his face. He stepped out of the room and saw the patient's wife and son.

"Doctor, how is Ravish?"

She wiped off the tears. Ahaan looked at her eyes which reflected a ray of hope.

"His pulse decreased drastically but we brought him back. So relax."

"Oh really...Thank God." She then thanked Ahaan.

"It's our duty Mrs Ravish."

Minutes later Ahaan came back to his consultation room. He sat on the chair.

"Phew...I got a mini attack. Thanks a lot, God."

He took his phone. He was shocked to see 10 missed calls from his mother.

"Oh no..."

Ahaan dialled her number. After two rings, he heard Neela's tensed voice.

"Where the hell were you Ahaan...?" shouted Neela.

"Mom please don't shout like this. I had an emergency case. So..."

"Come to the labour room. Pallavi is here."

"WHAT?"

Ahaan jumped up from his seat. Without wasting a second he rushed towards his aim. He reached a floor and turned towards left and ran fast.

"MOM...DAD..."

Ahaan called his parents when he saw them standing near the door of the labour room.

"Jay Ahaan is coming."

"Dad Mom how is Pallavi?"

"Nothing to worry. She has gone into labour. Her water broke and we immediately got her here." said Jayshankar.
