★-------- "I BARELY PASSED." Alice groaned as she waved the parchment, they walked down the astronomy tower after their test. They all laughed as they walked the stairs and walked towards the great hall for dinner.
"Evans!" They heard behind them, Lily groaned as she walked faster to the great halls. Stephanie whipped her head around as a gush of wind almost knocked her down, but before she could feel the stone cold floor she felt someone's chest.
"I got you." She felt someone whisper in her ear, she could see in the corner of her eyes she saw the yellow of a robe. He held her by her waist and her forearm, he pulled her back up on her feet.
"Sorry, Noah." She brushed her robe off as the dust from the floor got on her robe.
"It's okay, I'm happy I caught you." He smiled, Stephanie laughed.
"Sorry, Rose. I didn't see you there." She heard beside her, She turned to her side and saw James. She rolled her eyes, ignoring the brown hair boy and turned back to blonde hair boy.
"Thank you Noah." She thanks, before her eyes drifted to his robes. His robes were also covered from dust.
She quickly started dusting off the bottom of his robe trying to get the dust off,"Sorry for getting your robe dirty." She heard him chuckle, making her face go warm. She felt him gently hold her wrist to make her stop and stand back up.
"It's fine, Steph." They both stared at each other, his hand still gently rested on her wrist. They both jumped when they heard someone clear their throat, Stephanie looked to her side and saw James with his arms crossed and having an unreadable expression on his face.
"We should go now." James said to Stephanie but still keeping his eyes on Noah. Stephanie narrowed her eyes at James before turning to Noah and gave him a small smile.
"I'll see you soon, Steph." Noah also smiled, looking at James then running off.
Stephanie rolled her eyes at James before walking towards the great hall, leaving James. James kept calling for her which made her walk faster to the great hall.
She huffed as she tried to catch her breath from speed walking. She sat down next to Remus who passed her some water, she mumbled a thank you before chugging it down.
"What the hell, Stephanie." Stephanie looked up from her cup and met eyes with the hard glare, She winced when she didn't hear him say her last name knowing that she must've really triggered him this time.
"Yes." She avoided eye contact from him and went to pour her some more water.
"I was trying to talk to you, back there." He pointed to the hallway, where they both were just a few seconds ago.
"I was trying to not talk to you." She mumbled, Sirius snorted spitting out his water that he just drinked and got it all over Peter who sat in front of him. James glared at the black hair boy before looking back at Stephanie.
"Meet me outside after you finish eating, don't get caught." He looked at her before walking out not before saying something to Lily, who just grunted at him. The three also got up and followed James out, Stephanie grabbed her fork and started to eat as slow as she cold.
"You got in trouble by Potter." Marlene teased, Stephanie playfully glared at her before laughing her off.
"Okay but who was that boy?" Lily raised her eyebrow, Stephanie started to heat up before shaking her head at her.
"What are you talking about?"
"Don't play dumb, Steph. The boy who caught you when that idiot knocked you down." Marlene nudged Stephanie in the shoulder.
Stephanie choked on her chicken, Lily refilled her water and passed her water. Stephanie nodded as a thank you before coughing out the chicken and drinked her water.
"Noah." Stephanie said between sips of water, Alice looked between Lily and Marlene before looking back at the brunette who was still drinking the water.
"Noah, as in Noah Smith." Alice leaned in closer to Stephanie.
Stephanie raised her eyebrows as she put the cup back on the wooden table, "Why do you look like that,"
"Steph, Noah's mom is Samantha Smith." Stephanie jaw dropped as the realization hit her, she finally realized why his last name sounded so familiar.
"What's so special about that." Lily was genuinely confused about why the three other girls were being so dramatic.
"My Evans" Stephanie mocked the brown hair, glasses boy. Lily rolled her eyes, "Samantha Smith is one of the smartest witches of her time, everyone wants to be her." Stephanie explained to her. Lily nodded understanding, the girls all gushed over him and asked Stephanie multiple questions about him.
