"Finally, bed!"
I was about to plop myself onto the somewhat soft mattress when I reminded myself of the sleeping kitten in my arms. I placed down the bag that the articles of clothing were in onto the dresser, shifting my arms so I wouldn't disturb the furball.
Speaking of the little guy, Grim was heavily snoozing in my arms, there were drool and snot even present on the brat's face. I crunched my face, urging to clean his face up.
I looked around the dark bedroom and came across a familiar cloth. I picked it up with not much thought and gently wiped Grim's face. After doing so, I laid him down on the bed and gently patted his head which he seemed to enjoy.
I backed away from the little guy slowly, careful not to wake him up.
As I was about to set down the piece of fabric, I noticed its pattern in the moonlight: It was a lilac napkin with small floral embroidery that mimicked vintage pattern work.
'Wait where did I-'
Then it hit me. It was that guy! That guy who helped me during the fire... A beautiful man whom I mistook as a girl at first. Not many memories resurfaced from that fire since it was not just a blur of events but I did remember being ever so grateful for him.
His beautiful face and caring demeanor were all I vividly remembered...although thinking about it, he resembled Snow quite a bit.
'Snow...
Snow... AH!
I forgot to let the Dean in on the Snow situation! Man, after only one but long day of essentially going into a battlefield bare-handed, I keep forgetting things. I'll have to tell him another time...'
As I was facepalming at myself, I went to light a candle that I got from the storage room the previous night. The room lit partially, revealing little of the room that wasn't already lit by moonlight.
"I should get this clean... I might meet the guy tomorrow, who knows." I made my way across the room to the door of the bathroom. But as I was opening the way in, I was in complete awe.
From what little light was provided, I immediately noticed how the grime and dirt from the tiles have been scrubbed clean. Moles that were once lurking around corners seemed to be completely eliminated, and the mirror didn't have rust as it did before.
I placed down the candle on the floor while admiring the renovation.
I even tried to flick on the switch and to my delight, the fixture above worked: shining so brightly.
'Wow... b-but how?'
"Do you like it, miss?"
"You were gone a long time, miss."
"Guys, don't sneak up behind the misses!"
"AAA-?!"
I was about to scream bloody hell, but one of the ghost men made a shushing expression and immediately pointed towards Grim. I was taken aback for a brief moment but brushed it off and was about to scream once note to get Grim up, but another ghost hastily spoke up.
"M-miss! Please calm down... We're not here to scare you!"
Confused, I momentarily stopped myself from screaming.
"Let us explain please"
I tensed up and backed away slowly, "C-can we not explain here!"
The ghosts looked puzzled at me for a second before one of them pulled his two buddies with him outside the restroom.
