This one has been in the drafts since the Valintines chapter I posted. I don't know how I feel about this one.

I stare at my phone screen, hovering my thumbs over the keyboard. Do I text him, or do I not ... Yes or no... I'm contemplating whether or not I should message my friend Adam. Maybe it's not a good idea. What if he's busy? He probably wouldn't like hearing from me. It is pretty late... Yeah, maybe I shouldn't...

I turn my head to the door where my door bell is frantically being rung. "I'm coming! Give me a sec!" I yell, tripping over my own feet to get to the door. The ringing has stopped by now. I open the door to my empty porch. ...What the? My eyes dart across my front yard, looking for anyone ... Particularly, the mischievous kids from across the street

But nobody's here. Or at least from what I can tell. It's pretty dark out. I shrug and step back to close the door but something catches my eye. A bright array of color on my doorstep. Flowers? I bend down and pick them up. Someone left flowers on my door step? Who's it from? Is it even for me? Maybe someone gave this to the wrong house. I inspect the bouquet and see the card. It's a light blue with heart accents around the sides. I flip it over and read what's written on it.

"To my dearest James,
It's been hard to contain how I feel but now is the time to tell you. You're adorable and for sure the one for me. For now, my identity is a secret. But in time, secrets are revealed.
Sincerely, S."

S? Who? What? I look up and scan the street again, unfortunately seeing nothing but darkness. Carefully walking back inside, I shut the door and look down at the flowers. Who do I know who's name starts with S?

Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I type S into my contacts. The only match is Sarah, who was my childhood friend's mum. So it obviously isn't her. I'll worry about this tomorrow. I need some sleep. I head upstairs, get changed and flop into bed, almost immediately passing out.

"Just five more minutes ..." I roll over and cover my ears, trying to block out the ringing.

Sighing, I roll out of bed and trudge to the door. "What is it?" I swing open the door only to be greeted by nobody. This is familiar ... I look to my dining room table and see the bouquet of flowers. So that wasn't a dream, huh?

I turn my attention back outside, immediately noticing more flowers. This time, I spot a white card with gold accents around the sides. I pick up bouquet and card and bring it inside. As I reach for the card my phone buzzes. I pick it up and glance at the phone screen. A message from Adam pops up. I'll answer that later. I put my phone down and pick up the card.

"To my dearest James,
I hope you're having a good morning. I'll get to the first clue: S isn't for my real name.
Sincerely, S "

Not their real name? That makes a lot of sense. I walk over to my couch and flop down with the card in hand. I wonder who these are from. How about Jaiden? She says stellar and that starts with an 's'. But she told me a few weeks ago that she likes Tim so it can't be her.

Maybe I'm close though. It could be someone in the animation squad. Who though? Could it be ... no, I don't see why it would be. I shake my head and get up to grab so breakfast.

I race to the door and swing it open. It's already been a week of the bouquets and notes and each time I open the door they're already gone. I immediately spot someone walking away from my house with a hood over their head. Without any hesitation a sprint after them.

As I approach them they turn a corner quickly. I run to the street they turned down but see no-one. God damnit- I sigh and turn back to my house.

-

I got a new bouquet and note everyday for the next two weeks, but I still have no idea who this person is. Apparently, today I'm gonna find out who they are though.

So now I'm standing right by my door, waiting for the note. I glance down at my phone. 9:29 ... the doorbell should ring right about ...

Now. I swing the door open as quickly as a can but, surprisingly I'm faced with another person.

"Oh... hey Adam." He smiles at me, "Hey. So, uh... you haven't responded to, like... any of my texts." I immediately bring my hand up to my face, "I didn't ?? Dangit. I guess I've just... had a lot on my mind today."

Adam nods and invites himself into my house. He immediately spots the pile of flowers on my dining room table. You know? Now that someone else is seeing this it feels kind of strange. Almost embarrassing.

"What's all this?" He walks up to the table. "Oh uh... well... someone's been sending me those. With notes too." Adam raises an eyebrow, " Someone? As in you don't know who?" I shrug. "They leave hints somedays but I still have no idea!" Adam picks up one of the notes, "Hm. Weird." He continues reading different hints. "Who do you know has a name that starts with an S?"

I join him by the dining table, "The first hint said their name didn't start with S. So it must be a nickname or... something." I pick up the most recent note and re-read it. "They said they'd reveal themselves today. They always show up at 9:30 so when you... wait-" I turn to face Adam. His expression is unreadable. "Nevermind..."

"Well I hope you get it soon. For now do you wanna just play some Smash Bros?" I shrug and agree.
