Jai and i stood alone in the bedroom, he had his arms around me tightly "I'm sorry, i should've been here" he said quietly. "You weren't to know my ex was gonna go crazy stalker on me" i said "id better put some clothes on, i dont want to sit with officers looking like this". I walked over to the dresser and got some panties out and pulled them on quickly then got a pair of jogging bottoms out. When i turned round Jai had his hand over his mouth, tears in his eyes "Maddison... Did he...?" He asked looking at me and then at the panties on the floor.
"No babe , he didn't... He tried to" i said pulling on the jogging bottoms, i saw a tear run down Jai's face and went to him "he didn't do it"
"But he could have, if i had been 10 minutes later...."
"But you weren't. You got here on time".
"Mr Courtney, Miss Taylor.... Are you ready?" The officer asked "yes, lets get this done" i nodded.
"So could you tell me how it all happened please?"
"Um yeah, the alarm system woke me up. I went into the hall , i heard noises from Jai's office and alarm went off... At first i thought it was Jai" i started to explain, i went on to tell him how i locked myself in the bedroom but Josh was already in there. How he tried to force himself on me.
"Did he hit you?" The officer asked pointing at me, i realised i must be bruising. "Yes, he... He kissed me so i bit him hard, he hit me for that and pushed me on the bed"
"And then?"
"He pulled my underwear off and started removing his trousers...." Jai starting fidgeting next to me and his grip got tighter on hand " i begged him to stop and told him i was pregnant... He didn't believe me so i told him the test was in the bathroom.... That's when i heard Jai calling my name" i told the officer as he wrote it all down.
"I called out to Jai, he came in and pulled Josh away..."
"And hit him a few times it would seem"
"You'd have done the same if you had seen that animal on top of your girlfriend" Jai snapped
"Im not saying what you did was wrong Mr Courtney, i too would've done the same"
Jai nodded and relaxed slightly.
"So then thats when we turned up?"
"Yes officer" i answered, he nodded and wrote some more.
"Miss Taylor, you say he was already here in the room?"
"Yes"
"How did he get from the office into your room?"
"I.... I don't know" i hadn't thought of that.
"Ive got keys to the doors in my office.... Maybe he got them?"
"How would he have known the keys were for those doors? It doesn't make sense" the officer said trying to make sense of it.
"Oh my god.... It was him"
I said "what was?"
"This morning i heard something and found the doors open slightly in the bedroom, i thought Jai left them open or maybe i hadn't closed them properly.... He'd been here all that time! Planning this whole thing!"
"Okay, that explains it a bit more" the officer nodded.
"I still wanna know how he knew where you were! We've only been here a week" Jai added "i know, he told me he had been to my mums to get Ava's address.... She had the police there earlier after someone trashed her place"
"Josh trashed Ava's looking for you" Jai asked, i nodded "he admitted it when i put it together and asked him"
"I think i have enough, you were lucky your boyfriend showed up when he did, your ex was dead set on getting to you" the officer said shaking his head "don't worry I'm going to do everything i can to get that scumbag looked up".
We showed them out and locked up, Jai set the alarm and we went and curled up on the sofa.
