The coffee shop they walked into was tucked away behind another shop, it was beautiful inside. Full of huge comfy chairs all red and oranges with dark wooden tables. The lighting was quite low, tiny little lamps sat in the middle of each table and made it really cosy. As they walked in the guy behind the counter greeted Jai by name, so he was obviously a regular "hey, i'll have my usual and... Maddison?" He looked at me waiting for me tell him what id like "could i get a hot chocolate with a shot of hazelnut please" i answered, Jai raised his eyebrows "what?" I asked him feeling slightly confused "nothing" he chuckled and turned back to the counter to pay. "I'll bring them over Jai, go take a seat" the guy doing our drink says with a smile. Jai leads us over to a table away from everyone else, kinda hidden but i don't mind. Couple minutes later the drinks come out and Jai gives me a funny look "what?" I ask him "nothing" he laughed shaking his head but i caught him looking at my hot chocolate. "Its nice, stop looking at me like I'm crazy"
"It sounds horrible" he laughed, i push my mug over to him "try some, you'll be surprised" i watch as he slowly takes a sip then he looks quite surprised "thats actually really good! I thought it was some crazy english thing" he laughed and passed it back. I shook my head and laughed "so Jai, what were you doing hanging around in dark alley ways anyway?" I said teasing him, he gave me the sexiest smirk I've ever seen and leant back in his chair "i was waiting for a damsel in distress to rescue" he laughed "haha funny" i rolled my eyes at him but couldn't help but smile.
"I was just getting some fresh air, i had a work thing...."
"But you said they wouldnt notice that you'd gone!" I said quickly, instantly worrying that he'd get himself in trouble while helping me. "Im sorry to have kept you, look if you could just call me a taxi...."
"Calm down" he laughed "its fine i promise, i'll go back soon".
"I should probably get back to my friends place anyway, she'll start to worry if im too long especially with my phone dying" "okay, i'll go get you a taxi. Where too?"
"Erm, 265 Elmdale Park" i answer remembering the address. Jai goes over to the guy behind the counter, he looks over at me and nods then Jai turned and came back over.
"Ryan's calling you a taxi" Jai smiled "thanks, you dont need to wait..."
"You trying to get rid of me already?" he raised an eyebrow
I felt my face getting hot "no! Of course not i just don't want you wasting your night sitting here with me"
"Wasting my night? Maddison you've made my night interesting!" He said with a smile that gave me butterflies! "I don't suppose.... Never Mind" he looked away looking a little uncomfortable. "You dont suppose what?" I ask, i want to know what he was going to ask now! "I was just going to see if if maybe.... Can i see you again?"
"Oh" seriously? Was he being serious?? This gorgeous man who made my stomach flutter wanted to see me again??
"Is that weird? Its ok if you dont want to...."
"Its not that... Yes, id love to" i say quickly before i chicken out or he changed his mind.
"Hey Jai, taxi's here" Ryan called over.
"Cheers mate" he replied standing up and collecting his things "can i get your number and i'll call you?" Jai asked me when i stood up to leave.
"Yeah sure" he held out his phone to me he'd already written my name, i quickly entered my number and hit save then handed it back "there you go"
"Thanks, didnt give me a fake number did you?" He asked flashing that sexy smirk of his "nope, its mine" i smile "oh, your jacket" i remember as we're walking out "keep it, its cold. You can give it back when i see you next" he laughed a little.
He opened the taxi door for me "well it was lovely meeting you Maddison"
"You too, thanks again for helping me out Jai" i lean forward and kiss his cheek "goodnight" i smile and get in the taxi "goodnight" he closed the door and i watched as he disappeared in the distance. I couldn't help but smile like an idiot! My night had started off shitty but thanks to Jai i was feeling giddy! All i could think was how i had started the night in the wrong place but it was obviously the right time.
