"Wheres my beautiful grandson?" I heard Jai's mum Karen say as soon as they walked in the house.
"His in here Karen" i called back smiling at her when she appeared in the doorway.
"Wow look at you! Maddison you look amazing! You'd never guess you had just had a baby!"
"Thank you" i smiled and gave her a quick hug then i pointed over to Mason who was laying on his mat on the floor "meet your grandson Mason"
"Oh look at him! Chris look how perfect he is!" She cooed and knelt down to pick him up.
"His perfect you guys, you did well" Chris slapped his son on the back and gave him the most manly hug I've ever witnessed, then he turned to me and hugged me placing a kiss on my forehead "well done sweetheart, you've made a man outta that boy of mine"
"Thanks, i didn't do anything to your boy though he was already the best man I've ever met"
"Awww thank you baby" he smiled and pulled me into his arms.
"Hey I've got an idea.... why don't you kids go out for the evening, i bet its been a while since you've been able to go out and enjoy yourselves" Karen said looking over at us "we'll have Mason for the evening, you know his in good hands"
"Karen we couldn't you've only just got here...."
"Its fine! I don't mind at all, gives us some time to get to know our grandson and you two get to have the night off"
"If your sure....." Jai said and looked at me for my okay, i nodded with a smile "sounds good to me".
"Date night it is" he grinned and wiggled his eyebrows at me.
"Oh god" i blushed and walked towards the kitchen "who wants a tea?... or coffee?" I asked
"Can i get a tea please babe?" Jai smiled sitting next to his mum on the sofa.
"Sure, Karen? Chris?"
"I'll have a tea please sweetheart, one sugar" Karen replied not taking her eyes off of Mason.
"Same for me please Maddison".
While i was waiting for the kettle to boil i picked up my phone to see a few missed calls from "unknown number" but no messages or voicemails had been left.
Bloody sales calls!
There was a text message from Ava that simply said "Dress shopping tomorrow!! I'll pick you up at 10:30am! A xx"
I smiled as i replied "yes mam! M xx"
"Took your time replying!"
"Sorry the future in-laws have just arrived lol x"
"You should invite Jai's mum tomorrow, I'm sure she'd love to come x"
"Good idea! I'll see you tomorrow xx"
I put my phone on the side and made the tea.
"Thank you sweetheart" Karen said as i placed the mugs on the coffee table. Jai took my hand and pulled me into his lap wrapping his big arms around me.
"You two are so cute" Karen said smiling "wont be long til Mason here has a brother or sister i tell ya"
"Not just yet!" I laughed "I'm still traumatised from having Mason"
"Thats understandable"
"Ive never been so scared in my life mum it was awful" Jai added tightening his arms on me a little, i don't think he even realised he did it. "Every birth is different though, just because you had trouble with Mason doesn't mean it'll happen again"
"Its all a bit fresh still I'm guessing Karen, give them some time eh love?" Chris said rolling his eyes at his wife, I could see Jai in Chris when he did that and smiled to myself.
"Of course! Its not going to happen over night is it, I'm just saying it wont be long".
I could feel Jai burying his head into my side and moaning to himself.
"Hey babe did you tell them about the wedding date?" I asked changing the subject.
"No i didn't have a chance yet, we set a date" he told them "its pretty soon"
"What?? When??"
"October 10th" he said quickly. I watched Karen process the information..... "but thats.... 6 months away?? How will you get everything sorted??"
"We're just having a small, simple wedding. My friend Ava is helping me with the planning we'll be fine" i smiled "that reminds me, would you like to come wedding dress shopping tomorrow?"
"Really??.... you wouldn't mind?"
"Of course not! Id love for you to be there" i said truthfully "you can give me motherly advise on what looks good and what looks awful.... it'll be nice having you there"
"Oh Maddison id love to be there for you. It means so much to me that you're happy to let me share that moment with you"
I smiled at her happily before looking at Jai "that means you get Mason duty while we're out"
"Thats fine, us boys will be good on our own don't worry".

"Can i help you sir?" The waiter asked not even looking up at us from the reservation book in front of him.
"yeah i have a reservation in the name Courtney" Jai said to him while we stood waiting to be seated.
"Oh Mr Courtney!" The man looked up looking surprised "sorry to keep you waiting, right this way".
He led the way through the restaurant, Jai took my hand and we followed the waiter to a quiet corner. Once we were seated he gave us menu's and left to get our drinks.
"This place is nice" i said looking around the room.
"Yeah seems ok" he nodded
"You didn't have to bring me to some posh restaurant though. Id be happy with something simple"
"I know you would but i wanted to take you somewhere nice"
"Thank you babe"
Jai's phone started vibrating in his pocket and he took a quick look at it incase it was a problem with Mason.
"Its my agent...."
"Well answer it! Your waiting on a call back from that audition right?"
He nodded and answered.
"Are you serious??..... i got the part??" He said smiling "no thats great thanks for calling. Yes i'll see you then. Bye". He hung up looking so happy "i got the part!" He beamed at me.
"Of course you did, your amazing Jai. They'd be silly not to hire you" i smiled proudly at him "what film is it for?"
"The new Terminator movie, i got the part of Kyle Reece!"
"Thats amazing news!" I leant across the table and pressed a kiss to his lips "I'm proud of you".
"Thank you Maddie".
"Guess that means your gonna be away for a while"
"Yeah thats the only down side to this job, it means being away from you and Mason"
"We'll come visit you" i said with a smile trying to hide the fact i hated the thought of being away from him.
"Maybe i shouldn't do it..... its too soon after Mason..... you need me to help with him"
"Jai you cant turn this down. You've already missed out on so many opportunities since i came in to your life"
"That was my choice..."
"I know and i love you for putting us first i really do, but thats also why you have to take this job.... we love you so much and we want you to do well in your career. This is a big thing you've got you cant turn it down, it'll be huge for you"
"Come with me"
"What?"
"Come with me to New Orleans while i shoot the movie"
"Ive got a wedding to plan...."
"We'll get married there, we can rent a house for 6 months..... big enough for Ava, Jax and Bo to stay if you want??"
"Thats crazy! They cant just up root their lives for 6 months to come plan a wedding" i said with a laugh, he had finally lost his mind.
"Please Maddie, just think about it. I want you and Mason with me when i go to New Orleans"
"Okay..... if thats what you want we'll go with you" i nodded "i just might have to meet you there once I've sorted the wedding out. I'll just stress over it if i don't"
"Okay i can live with that"
"I love you" i said to him meaning it with everything i had, i would do anything if it meant making him happy.
Jai lifted my hand to his mouth placing a his against my palm "i love you too babe".
