On her lunch break, Hermione went to see Draco in secret. He smirked as she walked in. He was sitting contently in his bed. Hermione sat down on his bed. "How's the arm?" she laughed. He held it up as it was in a sling.
"Good enough," Draco laughed. His voice was deeper than it was last year, sexier.
"Well, I hope to see you better at dinner, but you really shouldn't have upset that Hippogriff."
"I know, it was stupid. Think of it as me trying impress you. You know, 'cause Potter just flew away on the blasted thing. Couldn't be that hard," he scoffed.
Hermione laughed. "Never try to impress me again."
"I know that now, thanks."
"How was your summer?"
"It was alright. How was yours?"
"It was great. I went to France with my parents. It was fascinating." Hermione suddenly thought about her moonlight run in with Ron. Her expression darkened.
"What is it, Hermione?"
"It's nothing."
"Alright, then."
"I have something else to show you."
"What is it?"
"Okay, McGonagall made me promise not to tell Harry or Ron, but she said nothing about you." Hermione pulled the time turner out. "Do you know what this is?"
"Blimey, that's a time turner, isn't it? How'd you get one?"
"Well, I signed up for all five electives and McGonagall gave it to me. It's Ministry issued."
"I can tell. Well, congratulations. Only you would be mental enough to sign up for all five electives, Granger,"
"Thanks... I think. I'm pretty excited. Are you taking Divination?"
"Yeah. I must be in a different class than you."
"Well, I saw something. In my tea leaves today-"
"I got it, too," Draco winked. Hermione blushed. She couldn't think of anything to say. A happy feeling was rising in her chest.
She snapped out of it and cleared her throat. "Right, then. Have a good afternoon, Draco." Hermione stood up and kissed him on the cheek.
"You too, Hermione," Draco smirked as she walked away with a spring in her step.
Dinnertime came in no time at all. Hermione walked into the Great Hall and seated herself beside Harry and Ron. Hermione could hear the conversation at the Slytherin table. "Does it hurt terribly, Draco?" Pansy asked, fawning all over him. Hermione really didn't like Pansy. She knew he had a crush on Draco. But then again, so did she.
"It comes and goes. Still, I consider myself lucky. According to Madame Pomfrey, another minute or two and I could've lost my arm," Draco dramatacized.
"That little git," Ron said as he glanced at Hermione. "He's really laying it on thick, isn't he?"
"At least Hagrid didn't get sacked," Harry said.
"Yes, but I hear Draco's father's furious. I don't think we've heard the end of this," Hermione said. She really hoped that wasn't the case. Suddenly, Seamus burst into the hall with a copy of the Daily Prophet.
"He's been sighted!" Seamus shouted. The Gryffindors crowded together.
"Who?" Ron asked. Seamus showed the paper to reveal a big moving picture of Sirius Black. Hermione read to herself, 'reported last seen in Achintee...'
