Year 4 - The Queen of the Yule Ball

Hermione smiled at Ron and Harry's astonishment. Her and Viktor walked alongside each other with the other champions into the ballroom. "You look beautiful, Hermione," Viktor whispered to her. 

"Thank you. And you look well-proportioned also," Hermione whispered back. 

The champions and their dates were lined up as so. Fleur Delacour and her date Roger Davies, of the Ravenclaw house, were first. Fleur was wearing a beautiful long flowing gray dress that emphasized her features perfectly along with Roger, who was wearing a lovely set of black dress robes with a white bow tie. Next, Viktor and Hermione. Viktor was wearing a perfectly elegant set of red furlined dress robes and cape. He was, by far, the best-dressed boy at the Yule Ball. After Hermione and Viktor were Cedric Diggory and Cho Chang. Cho Chang. Hermione felt a wave of uneasiness hit her as she realized that was the girl Harry had been head over heels for. He must've been devastated when he found out she was being taken by someone else to the ball. The fact was, Hermione was too busy avoiding him to notice. Cedric looked extremely dashing with black dress robes, a white Oxford, and a black bow tie. His soft auburn hair was done just so that it struck the oxytocin just right in Hermione's heart. But Cho was the one everyone was looking at. She looked so stunning it was unbelievable. Cho was dressed up in a beautiful satin gold form-fitting patterned dress with her hair gently pulled up and back. The most astonishing thing was that it looked like she was wearing very little makeup because of her excellent and flawless skin. Her kind smile was the best thing she would wear, though. In the very back was Harry and Pavarti Patil. Harry's dress robes were a bit frumpy and his hair was a bit unkept, but he tried. Pavarti, on the other hand, looked beautiful. She was dressed in a wonderful orangey toned sari with her makeup sensibly done. Her hair was let loose, beautifully flowing down her back.

In the ballroom, there was a tunnel of students parting way for the champions and their dates. Disregarding how beautiful the other girls looked, every single pair of eyes was on Hermione. The reason for that was because no one had seen her like this before. Hermione's eyes drifted to Draco. Her jaw almost dropped wide open. He looked borderline gorgeous. His hair was perfect and his dress robes were sleek, sharp, and defined. He stood there, in awe, taking all of her in. Pansy Parkinson, Draco's date for the evening eyed him suspiciously as he stared at Hermione. He raised his eyebrows in approval, but was elbowed by Pansy. "What?" he said quietly over the sound of the music.

"Stop looking at her. You're here with me," pig-faced Pansy said. 

"Don't get pissy."

The music playing was a classic Waltz song. The champions each took a separate part of the ballroom's dance floor. Krum placed his hand on Hermione's waist and she gently placed a hand on his shoulder. Hermione nodded to Viktor with a smile and they danced effortlessly. Even though all the other champions were dancing as well, Hermione knew all eyes were on her and Viktor. Soon after the champions were done with their first dance, the other couples joined in. Neville and Ginny snagged a spot next to Hermione and Viktor. Ginny winked at Hermione from across the way. Hermione beamed back.

After a while of dancing the Waltz, a couple people started to sit down and take a break, Hermione and Viktor included. Hermione saw Ron and Harry sitting with their dates, Padma and Pavarti, looking bored. "Viktor," Hermione said. "Why don't you go get us some punch? I'm getting a little tired. I think I need a break."

"Of course. Is everything okay?"

"Absolutely. I'll be over by my friends." Viktor nodded as Hermione went over to Harry and Ron's table. Padma and Pavarti looked up expectantly when she approached. "Hot, isn't it?" Hermione said as she took a seat across from them. "Viktor's gone to get drinks. Care to join us?"
