"Why do they always have to travel in packs?" Harry said, eating his dinner. "How are you supposed to get one alone to ask them?"

"Blimey, Harry. You slew dragons. If you can't get a date, who can?" Ron grumbled.

"I think I'd take the dragon right now."

"This is mad. At this rate, we'll be the only ones in our year without dates... Well, us and Neville."

"But then again, he can take himself.

"It might interest you to know that Neville's already got someone," Hermione said.

"Now I'm really depressed," Ron said.

"Get a move on," Fred said. "Or all the good ones will have gone."

"Well, Hermione, you're a girl," Ron said.

"Oh, well spotted," Hermione said.

"Come on. It's one thing for a bloke to show up alone. For a girl, it's just sad."

"I won't be going alone because believe it or not, someone's asked me. And I said yes."

"Bloody hell."

Hermione rolled her eyes and got up from the table. She had a meeting with Viktor in the library. Well, it wasn't really a meeting. Viktor had asked her to hang out, but she had planned on studying for their midterm O.W.L.s, so Viktor asked if he could come. She said sure, but it was going to be boring.

Anyways, she went to the library and ducked into the astronomy row. She cracked open a book and started studying. She used the astronomy book to complete her study guide. Suddenly, there was a commotion down the aisle. "What in the world?" she whispered to herself. Krum appeared at the spot where the row met the aisle and waved at Hermione. Following him was a cloud of lovesick fangirls.

"Viktor goes to the library!" one of them said.

"He's so smart," one of the other ones said.

"Um," Hermione said softly.

"Evening, Hermione," Krum said.

"Who are all these people?"

"We're his wives," one of the girls said. She stroked his hair.

"They kind of just follow me," Viktor shrugged.

"Well, I'm trying to get my work done. They're a bit distracting," Hermione said.

"I know, right?"

Hermione was beginning to get angry. This was the last night that she had to study before the O.W.L.s since the Yule Ball was tomorrow night. Hermione slammed her book shut and stormed out of the row. While passing the librarian, she said, "Can I take this one?" Professor Pince nodded, not looking up from her own book. She went all the way back to the common room to continue studying. While in the hallway, she was met with Draco.

"Granger," Draco whispered. "I heard you say you had a date."

"Yeah, I do. Do you?"

"No. I kind of just assumed we might go together."

"You assumed wrong."

"You going with Krum?"

"Maybe."

"Well, have fun. I'm sure you'll look beautiful."

Hermione actually took the time to smile. It was actually genuine. "Thanks. I'm sure you'll look devilishly handsome."

"Thanks," Draco smiled back. "Well, goodnight to you."

"Goodnight," Hermione and Draco nodded at each other and disappeared around separate corners. Hermione was surprised by this interaction. He was probably jealous but wasn't showing it. Hermione was now back in the common room, studying away. Then suddenly, Ron and Harry burst in. Ron was looking rather startled. "What happened to him?" Hermione asked.
