THIRTEEN

"How is today treating you so far?" Finn asked while walking with me to my class, I shrugged "got into a fight with Jack first thing, that's about it - I also got ready for the day," I tell him "how about you?" I wondered

"I got up" he simply says, we both laugh about what he said

"want to grab something from the cafe before going to class?" Finn suggests, I nod and we get into the line of the cafe we chose Finn grabs my hand I guess out of instinct now considering we've been faking this relationship for a while now.

"Hey, excuse me," a faint voice said behind us, I turned to see if they were directed towards me and it was a girl around my age "hi, sorry I'm new to this campus and need some help finding my course but I've been having too much anxiety to ask someone until I saw you two" she explains

"sure, what is it?" I turn towards her she pulls out her phone showing the schedule of classes, up at the top corner reads Kaitlynn R.

"oh you have fine arts, that is like a 10-minute walk from here on section B of the campus I can show you after I get my order from this cafe," I say to her she nods and sits down at one of the tables I look at Finn he shrugs at me "she seems ok" he mutters

I nodded agreeing, we wait five more minutes before getting what we wanted, I walk over to Kaitlynn "okay, you ready?"

"Yeah, I'm Kaitlynn by the way" she held her hand out

"y/n"

"nice name, it's is so pretty" she smiled

"thank you" I smiled back "I like your name too"

"thank you"

"you're welcome"

"I'm going to go to my class, I can't be late but I'll catch you later?" Finn buds into the convo letting go of my hand "yeah, text me" I say

"love you" he kissed me quickly before walking away, I stepped back processing what Finn just did, feeling my lips wiping them with the end of my hoodies' sleeve getting rid of the feeling of his lips on mine "aww you two are cute" Kaitlynn squeals

"thanks" I fake my smile, he wasn't supposed to act like that when no one was around, only when Jack could potentially be present.

"do you want to hang out at lunch or is that time for you and your boyfriend to have alone?" she asks I shrug "it depends, he usually spends his breaks with friends - after classes are when we hang mostly"

"that makes sense, want to hang out then?"

"sure"

"okay" she smiles

"oh here is your class, through this door" I point over to it she nods waving "thank you, meet at the same cafe?"

"you bet" I wave leaving to my course which happened to be English

Time Skip

I waited for Kaitlynn at a table near the cafe we just met at earlier today, deciding to order while I waited someone tapped on my shoulder turning around Cylia was crying she said nothing but hugged me, of course, I hugged back.

"oh my, whats wrong Cylia?" I was worried

"Jack, he-he said that we're officially over..." she sobbed I wiped her tears away as much as possible, she held onto me while I ordered some food "do you want anything?" I ask her she nods asking for some hot cocoa and a biscuit.

we sit down at a table and she tells me everything that seemed like a red flag within their relationship, I sighed it was typical for Jack to act that way. wasn't surprised just disappointed in him, he was very toxic and hasn't changed much since the last time we went out.

"then he texted this girl..." she says my full attention was caught when she mentioned 'girl'

"What is her name do you know?" I ask

"there's two; Talia something and I think Ell-"

"Ellie and Talia..."

"yeah." she paused "how did you know?"

"he's been talking to them forever before I even met him - well Talia at least she's his ex from ages ago." I explain to her "Ellie is a 'friend' to him only"

"he didn't say much to them just that he is still in a relationship, he never even mentioned my name to either of them." she tells me "that's what hurts the most."

"I'm sorry"

"it's okay"

"hey! oh my gosh I got so lost here it took me ages to find you, hi" Kaitlynn sat down joining us my order was ready so I excused myself quickly to grab it then return shortly after sitting down with them again "here" I handed Cylia her food she thanked me.

"This is Kaitlynn by the way" I gestured towards her "this is Cylia" I pointed at Cylia

they both waved and said hi

"We just met today, she is a newcomer to the campus" I explain

"nice, how do you like it so far?" Cylia wonders

"It's okay, no cuties here yet though kind of bummed out I want a cute skater boy or something," she says randomly

"aren't you here for school though?" I ask

"both" she giggles

"hmm"

"well, you can have my ex" Cylia offers "well, y/n and I's ex-boyfriend"

"oh wait. How did you two meet?" Kaitlynn asks "through your ex?"

"no, we're roomies, she was dating him after I did in high-school."

"oh, that is so crazy like what are the odds right?" she scrunched her nose, she started to give off a different vibe now but I ignored it of course.

"well, shall we show you our room?" I look at Cylia she shrugs "let's do it"

"oh yay" she got up walking with us to our dorm

"hey Cee" Jack walked over to us out of nowhere, I had no idea he was even up usually he will sleep in and miss Lacrosse practice but never his games.

"oh this will be interesting" I mutter

"What now Jack?" she slapped her hands on her sides in frustration "what? seriously."

"can we talk? alone" he glanced at me then Kaitlynn

Kaitlynn bit her lip slightly twirling her hair into curls she smirked at him, he looked at her twice before leaving with Cylia.

"that is both of your ex?" Kaitlynn looks at me I nodded slowly

"I can see why, damn" she watched him as he walked away

"oh if only you knew how he really is..." I mumbled quietly
