With the help of Jungkook's excellent tutoring skills and Junghyun turning a blind eye, Jimin passes all of his tests and quizzes. School is going well from that point on.
The end of August comes faster than he expected. He feels like school is going by in a blur when he reaches September break with all A's and B's. He also gets his splint taken off. His wrist is perfectly healed.
His family goes on a week long trip to the beach in Florida. He spends most of his time in bed–his muscles have been sore for some reason–but when he builds up the energy, he goes down to the pool and sits next to it with his mom.
Because of his time in the sun, he gets a bit of a tan. Not too much, but enough to make his skin look like honey.
He experiences a rather major growth spurt over the course of the week. He grows at least 1 1/2 inches taller and his voice deepens just a little bit.
The only visual change that he can see is that his muscles are a bit more defined. His thighs aren't as skinny as they used to be. His chest feels a bit more firm and looks less childish.
His mom swears on her life that his face looks more mature, but he can't see it. She thinks he has a more defined jawline, but it's not noticeable at all.
They get home the Saturday before school and Jimin discovers that he no longer fits in his jeans. He tells his mom and she takes him shopping for more jeans.
Jimin gets a text from Junghyun the next day inviting him over to play video games. Jimin reluctantly agrees. He's a bit scared to see Jungkook.
Jungkook always says that he looks after him because he's like a kid to him, so what if he starts ignoring him because he's growing up? He tries to shake the thought away but it stays. He resorts to just trying his bet to ignore it.
He bikes over to Junghyun's house and sees Jungkook outside shooting hoops with some of his senior friends. Jimin bikes into the driveway and leaves it in the grass. He tries to get to the door without being noticed, but–
"Hey Jimin..."
Jimin turns and waves. Jungkook waves back and looks at him in a weird way that he can't really describe. Jimin turns away and walks inside before he can blush.
Jungkook gets nudged by his friend. "You zoned out."
"Sorry... He looks... taller..."
