4 years ago [Jimin - 5th grade; Jungkook - 8th grade]
Jungkook does his best to comfort Jimin's frantic mom. "What if someone grabbed him?"
"Don't say that. I'm sure he just thinks the game is still going."
"He could be in serious trouble. Anyone could've driven up and thrown him in their car or whatever."
"I'll go look for him."
"Okay. Just hurry. It's getting really dark outside."
Jungkook nods and runs off. They had been playing manhunt with all of the neighborhood kids for 3 hours and it's getting close to midnight. Their last round ended 30 minutes ago but no one can find Jimin.
He doesn't bother looking up in the trees. Jimin hasn't climbed one since "the incident" in 2nd grade. Besides, Jimin prefers to lay low in manhunt.
He runs around the neighborhood, looking under neighbors' porches and behind their electrical generators. There's absolutely no sign of Jimin.
"Jimin! The game is over! Stop hiding!"
He continues to tell this on repeat until he hears a small sniffle come from behind a bush.
He walks over to it and peeks behind it. "Jimin, the game has been over for 30 minutes. Why are you crying?"
He notices that Jimin is clutching his knee so he gently peels his hands away. Jimin's knee is badly bruised and bloody.
"I didn't want anyone to see me crying because they'd think I'm weak."
Jungkook can't look away from his knee. "What happened?"
"Garrett was chasing me but I finally lost him and got distracted but I fell in someone's yard and my knee hit a rock really hard." He sniffles again and wipes his tears away.
"I need to bring you back to your house. Your mom is really worried. She thinks you were kidnapped or something."
"But I can't walk."
"Can you not move your leg?"
"It just hurts really bad."
"Okay. Then I'll carry you."
Jimin's eyes grow wide. "Okay..."
They crawl out from behind the bush and Jimin climbs onto Jungkook's back. He holds on tightly and fights his blush.
Jungkook walks back towards Jimin's house. "Your mom can help you with your knee. If you can move it, it probably isn't broken."
Jungkook tries his best not to smile. He can feel Jimin's rapid heartbeat and the heat radiating from his cheeks. "Your mom will be really relieved to hear that you're okay."

Jimin laces their fingers together and drowns in the feeling of the kiss. They've been dating for about half a month now and they've spent most of the time kissing. In other words, Jimin is living the dream.
He's asked Jungkook to pinch him about 500 times so he can be sure that he isn't imagining all of it. Jungkook is the best boyfriend ever. He constantly surprises Jimin with 1AM slushies, chocolate bars, and cuddles.
Apart from mostly consisting of kisses, their relationship involves A LOT of crawling into each other's windows late at night to cuddle.
Jimin rolls over so his back is pressed against Jungkook's chest. "Can I sleep here tonight?..."
Jungkook wraps his arms around him. "Of course you can, baby. You're always welcome to stay the night." Jimin smiles and hugs Jungkook's arm.
