On the Friday of that week, Jungkook asks them if they're going to the Homecoming game. "It's super fun. I know you guys don't watch sports at all, but it's cool to go and hang out with people."
Junghyun chuckles. "No way. I don't like football games."
Jungkook sighs. "Come on. You'll regret it if you don't go. Homecoming games are always super fun."
"No."
Jungkook rolls his eyes. "How about you, Jimin? Are you gonna go?"
"Well... I can't go if Junghyun isn't going. I wouldn't know anybody there. I don't want to look like a loser..."
Jungkook makes eye contact with Junghyun in the rear view mirror and clears his throat. "You can go with me. I'm going with a couple of my friends and you could join us."
Jimin looks at Junghyun who turns away and looks out the window. "Um... I still don't think I should go..."
Junghyun shrugs. "Just go."
Jimin gulps. "Okay... I guess I'll go..."
Jungkook smiles. "Cool. I'll pick you up at 7:00."
-
Jimin stares in the mirror. Somehow he's managed to overthink his outfit and now he thinks a regular white t-shirt looks weird.
Homecoming means the theme is white, so what's he's wearing is correct, but it's so... basic.
Before he has time to think it over more, his phone rings.
Incoming call from Kook...
Accept | Decline"Hey. I'm outside."
"Oh, okay. I just need to put my shoes on."
"Hurry. Kickoff is in an hour and I want us to be in the senior section."
"Okay."
call ended.
-
Jimin runs out to his driveway and gets into the passenger seat of Jungkook's Jeep. "Hi..." His smile falls slightly.
Jungkook is wearing a loose bro-tank and there's words written on his muscular arms with white paint. He has a white bandana headband on too.
Jimin has no words. He can't even muster up the strength to put his seatbelt on.
Jungkook chuckles. "Are you okay?"
"Uh... I'm just worried that I'm underdressed." Horrible excuse for eyeing Jungkook like he's a piece of candy.
"You aren't. There's some people that don't even bother wearing white, so you're fine."
Jimin puts his seatbelt on so Jungkook can back out of the driveway. "Thanks for the flowers, by the way..."
"Hmm?"
"From a week ago? In Minecraft?"
"Oh, you're welcome. I just happened to find a flower biome so I grabbed a few."
"27 stacks of 64 isn't a few..."
Jungkook chuckles. "Okay, so maybe I got a little bit carried away. I thought it was 28 stacks. Didn't you get 2 stacks of peonies?"
Jimin shrugs. "I didn't check."
"Wow. I take time out of my day to do something nice for you and you don't have the heart to look at it? I'm hurt."
Jimin giggles. "I couldn't look at it closely. Junghyun would get mad if he saw it..."
Jungkook doesn't respond to this. He just silently drives them the rest of the way to school.
