The three of you manage to get through the day without passing out or dying. You did throw up. Can't win 'em all, right? You rest your head against Penelope's shoulder and groan: "Oh god, I'm never drinking that much ever again."
"We've been saying that since we were seventeen. Why don't we learn?"
"Cause we're stupid."
"I feel like there's a sledgehammer inside my head, trying to break free."
"Uhu."
You both put your fingers against your temple and massage it, hoping that will work. It doesn't.
"Where's Aria? I need to go home and take a huge ass nap," you whine.
You hear her tired, raspy voice from behind you. "Shots on a Sunday night...worst idea ever. Is E picking us up or are we walking?"
Penelope sounds like she's about to cry. "Please don't tell me we're walking."
"I'll call him, I can't handle walking. I can't even handle standing, or being awake, for that matter."
"Hey, sweetheart. I'm pulling up to the square right now. Be there in a second."
"Oh, thank god for you." You turn to the girls. "He's almost here."
Penelope leans forward and talks into your phone. "I love you so much, E."
"Penelope says she loves you."
"I love her, too."
You turn back to Penelope. "He loves you, too." You address Elijah again: "Okay, see you in a second, baby. Love you."
"Love you."
You hang up the phone and wait for him on a bench. You lean your head on Penelope's shoulder and Aria is leaning on your shoulder while Penelope leans her head on her hand, occasionally letting out a tormented groan.
"You all look like you're about to die."
"I think we might," Penelope says. "I'm never drinking again."
"But then you wouldn't have crazy kitchen sex, now would you?" Elijah says with an amused grin on his face.
"True. Damn it." She sounds like she's gonna cry again.
Elijah chuckles and kisses you.
"Come, let's get you girls home."
You look at him, kinda annoyed but also completely confused. "How are you not dying?"
"I got another hour of sleep, took a shower and had lots of coffee."
"I hate you," Penelope growls.
"You love me and you know it."
"I do but I also hate you for not feeling you're gonna die."
You arrive at your chalet and the three of you drop down on the couch. Nate and Matt are sitting at the dining room table, reading today's paper in their sweats.
"I need this day to be over. Like, right now." Aria says while laying in fetal position on the couch.
"Hey babe, you okay?" Nate asks. He comes over and kisses Aria on top of her head.
"No. I think I might die."
Matt crouches down next to Penelope. "Are you dying as well?"
"Uhu."
Elijah comes back from the kitchen with three glasses of water. "Wanna take a nap?"
Penelope answers, "Yes."
