Chapter 85

You're about to open your last present.

It's Matt and Nate's and they have the habit of making you cry. Hard.

Your heart is pounding against your ribs and your hands are a little clammy.

You open the blue gift wrap around the square and read it. You're a bit lost so you read it again.

"We showed you the stars of when Rosie and Henry were born but we know there's a third and very important star. We wanted to make it a special one so we bought you a star. An actual star in the sky," Matt elaborates.

"We named it Little Star Burke. There's an instruction on how and where to find the star and the coordinates. All the information is on there."

You can't talk. You can't breathe. You can't even look up.

Your heart is slamming against your chest but it might as well have stopped beating all together. Out of the corner of your eye, you see Elijah pressing his thumb and index finger in the corners of his eyes.

Damn these guys.

You don't say anything. You just turn to Elijah and burry yourself in his embrace. You cry silent tears in the crook of his neck and you can feel his tears dripping on your back.

You could hear a pin drop.

Until you hear soft sobbing across the table and it hits you right in the feels. They did it again.

Elijah whispers in your ear: "I love you."

"I love you, too."

You break the hug and he places both hands against your wet cheeks. He places his lips against yours and just rests them there for a while. Another tear falls from your eyes and disappears beneath his hand.

You look up and see Penelope in tears as well. Aria has pulled her knees up and is resting her chin on her knees. Matt wipes away a tear while bite bites the inside on his cheek and everyone looks at you both.

"This is..." You swallow hard and try to form a decent sentence. You're struggling to get the words out right. "I..."

"This is more than we could've asked for. I don't even know what to say... Thanks." Elijah is biting back tears, you can see his chin trembling.

You get off your seat and hug Matt. You cry hard against his white t-shirt and he holds you tight, running his hand softly up and down your back and over the back of your head.

"I love you."

"Love you too, Hails."

"This is the most beautiful gift you could've given us. Thank you, Matt."

Nate and Elijah share a hug and a pat on the back. You both break the hug and switch. You go over to Nate and he immediately pulls you in for a tight hug. He's almost as tall as Elijah so your face rests against his chest.

"I don't know what to say..."

"You don't have to say anything."

"But I do... I..."

"I know, Hails."

"Thank you, Nate. You're the best. Both of you are the absolute best. Love you, Nate."

"Love you, too, Hails."

You're still really emotional and soft sobs linger a bit but what overwhelms you the most, is the love you receive from this crazy bunch every single day.

"I don't know what I did to deserve you all but I'm beyond grateful to have you in my life. I don't know what I would do without you guys. I love you all to death."
