Chapter 86

After you got back from the hike and Elijah took care of business, your business, you got ready for your birthday dinner at Nobu.

You're all sitting at a huge round table and the kids are sound asleep in their stroller.

"We need to talk bridesmaids dresses. I was thinking baby pink, princess cut, sweat heart neckline and a bow on the back for the three of you. What do you think?" You keep a straight face and say it in a deadly serious voice.

They both look at you in horror.

"Uhm... We could take a look, if you want," Penelope hesitantly says with a forced smile on her face, trying not to hurt your feelings.

"Yeah...sure. We could try some dresses on and see how they look," Aria says with a scared face. She looks a little scary, too. Eyes wide, eyebrows all the way up, a forced smile on her face and fear in her eyes.

"Good. It'll be so pretty. You'll look so cute in them."

Penelope: Is she serious?

Aria: Shoot me now!

I'm enjoying this way too much!

Elijah: They're shitting their pants right now. This is hilarious.

Matt: This is going to be good.

Nate: She is batshit crazy.

"I'll schedule an appointment , just the four of us. And don't worry..."

Penelope: Oh thank god!

Aria: Oh thank god!

"If you don't like it, they also have it in a soft yellow or a pale green. I already checked. I'm so excited!!"

Penelope: Is it too late to cancel? You think she'll notice if I don't show up?

Aria: Is it too late to bump our Cambodia trip with two weeks and leave right before the wedding?

Matt: Please pick the green one.

Nate: Is she high?

Elijah: Hailee Grey, you're savage.

Look at them, they're dying. I can't! "They even have matching shoes and purses. It'll be picture perfect. Can you imagine how good our pictures will look?"

Aria: I'm gonna burn them.

Penelope: Wouldn't it be just awful if they accidentally caught fire and were completely destroyed?!

Matt: This is too good to be true. Penelope is shitting her pants right now.

Nate: She's definitely high as a kite!

Elijah: They look like they're about to throw up.

You're dying inside. The look on their faces is priceless. You were kidding about the dresses, for sure, but this is so much fun you're actually considering having them try it on.

I can't believe they would actually try them on. I would've vetoed that shit in a heartbeat.

Elijah leans in close and lowers his voice. "You're ruthless."

"Nah, ruthless would be making them actually wear the dresses on our wedding day. This is just plain ol' fun."

"Are you gonna tell them or let the suffer for another month?"

"The jury is still out on that."

He chuckles and shakes his head. He kisses your cheek and leans back in his seat.
