CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE

Everything feels surreal. I was like floating to the thick cloud nine and nothing could ever banish the smile on my face. Lying on my bed, my eyes fixated to the ceiling, I grazed my thumb on the pendant of my necklace; the necklace Bellamy gave me. My lips puckered as the flux of images of Bellamy flashed vividly on my head. My heart was in harmony, my mind was pacified, my breathing is at ease.

After the dinner with his parents, something had dislodged from my chest. But I knew that it wasn't all that easy. I should be contemplating on how to tell my answer to Bellamy. I wasn't quiet good at surprises or any sort related to the romantic notion of love. How dull, I mentally chided to myself.

Surely, Bellamy had received so many grand surprises from other girls. Thinking of those girls whose bravado had reached the highest point just to tell their affection to Bellamy made me jealous. How can I do that? This was my first time, yes, but I don't want this to fail. I wanted this to be perfect and memorable. I clicked my tongue before opening my phone. The phone lighted up, the light illuminated my face as I clicked the Google.

I'd never imagined myself being like this. Exhaling sharply, I typed the words I needed. Tamara said that Google can provide me the ideas of dates. She offered a help but I refused though. Now, I regretted that I refused her offer since I was struggling to think about the ideas for a date!

Cute ideas to surprise your suitor.

Bitting my lower lip, I looked at the results. Scrunching my nose up to disgust, I continued to look for ideas. I'd never ever imagined myself doing this kind of thing. I placed my phone beside me and pondered deeply. The results were somehow required days of preparations. I'd only got 13 hours to prepare— that includes the hour of being asleep. I could imagine my wilting image and dark circles underneath my eyes. A disaster.

What should I do?

The chime from my phone startled me. I fumbled for it on my side. My heart walloped against my chest when I saw Bellamy's name. Agad ko naman iyong sinagot.

"Hello?"

His heavy breathing suffused on the end of the call, "I miss you already,"

I rolled my eyes. Bolero talaga nito. D'yan ka magaling, Bellamy! You are so good at making my heart beat aggressively. I bit my lower lip to stop myself from smiling.

"I... I miss you too,"

Hindi siya agad nagsalita. I thought the call was ended or he fell asleep while on the phone right now. His breathing doubled as if he were having a hard time catching his breath.

"What again, love? I didn't hear it clearly." His voice was like a raspy whisper.

"H-hindi ka pa ba inaantok?" I tried to avert the topic since I cannot preempt the lingering heat on my face.

"I cannot sleep." He croaked throatily, "Love, can you repeat what you have said awhile? I wanna hear it again."

"Hindi ka pa ba inaantok?" I innocently said.

I knew that it wasn't the one he wanted to hear. But I cannot accommodate his request right now especially my heart was beating so hard, my throat was running dry, my palms were sweating and my face heated up.
