CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT
Bellamy and I stayed that way. He was hugging me tight while momentarily leaving a kiss on my forehead or on my cheek. While we were in bed, I couldn't neglect the scent that exudes from his body. The breath that tickles on my face from his mouth was minty and addictive. My eyes were fixated to the ceiling while him was on me. My heart was hammering my chest painfully and aggressively. Never did I thought that such paradox was about to be felt— pain and happiness fused together to create an unyielding sprout of hope and affection.
The morning glow penetrated inside this four walls enclosure. Despite the ruffled curtains that draped over the window, the shaft of the sun never did fail to shower its glorified light throughout the room. The low chirps of the birds, the slow howl of the wind, the morning gossips in the neighborhood, and the beeps and screeches from the vehicles outside the house rattled the silence that tried to engulf the entire room. However, despite the sound that seemed to supervise the whole vicinity outside, the stentorian thuds of my chest was no comparable.
"This is the happiest morning I ever had," Bellamy mumbled, tracing his index finger through the bridge of my nose.
"You're too close." I said when he scooted close to me.
"Does that matter?" He smirked and kissed my forehead, "I can't help myself but to kiss you. You are making me a sucker for a kiss, love."
I looked at him. His heavy eyelids were directed to me, "Baka magsawa ka niyan."
"Wanna bet? Hmm?" Hamon niya at inilapit pa ang kaniyang mukha sa akin, one push and his lips will be crashed to mine.
I shook my head, "Bellamy?"
"Yes?" He asked, his voice was soft and syrupy.
"Sabi mo, you like me even before. Papaano iyon nangyari? I mean, I didn't know you until the basketball game you had with Garrett."
I didn't understand what he said last night. Hindi ko nga alam na kilala niya pala ako. The way he said those words were utterly unbelievable. How could he invest in such idiocy by having an adoration to someone whom he scarcely knows? My eyes were settled to him as he cast a steady but heavy breath. He cradled my face using his palm and his thumb grazed smoothly on my lips.
"I had known you when we were kids," he whispered, his voice was raspy, hindi ko alam kung dahil iyon sa bagong gising siya o ano.
"D-do you know me even before we were kids?" I knew that he had said this before but I couldn't believe it.
"It was a birthday party of your Papa. My family was invited to attend. I was ten years old that time and you were eight. When we were introduced, you did not look at me, instead you opted to hide behind your Papa. Maybe that's the reason you barely know me."
Huminga ako nang malalim. Hindi makapaniwala sa kaniyang sinabi. He wasn't bluffing, was he? His eyes were gleaming with nothing but adoration and amusement. Hindi ako makapaniwala.
"It's unbelievable that you instantly liked me that time. It's just our first meeting!" I hissed but he just chuckled.
"Of course, I didn't instantly like you that time. I was just curious as to why Mr. Gomez has other kid aside from Lilith. But when I learned about you, I got more curious especially when your actions seemed hesitant and controlled that time as if you were afraid to make mistake." He beamed as he crouched a bit to plant a kiss on my nose.
Hindi ako nagsalita at napatitig lang sa kaniya. Hindi ko alam kong maniniwala ba ako. Hindi ko talaga siya maalala.
"After that day, I didn't expect myself looking forward to the celebration of the Gomez next year. I was hoping that I'll meet you again. But then, the next year, you weren't there. I asked Lilith as to why you didn't attend the birthday party of your father and she just answered me with a shrug." He chuckled and closed his eyes as if recalling something amusing happened in the past, "I didn't see you for years so I assumed that I'll never get to see you again. I even searched your name to social medias but I realized that you aren't that type of girl. I lost hope until I went to College and I saw you in the admin building with your friend, laughing with something I didn't know."
