CHAPTER TWENTY
The usual thick and sultry wind cradled my existence when Bellamy and I agreed to sit near the rock formation meters away from the cottage. Bellamy opted to spend some time with me rather than with his friends. Ang sabi niya ay sobrang ingay nila kaya mas magandang umalis muna kami doon. The sky was aglow with silvery light as the cloud blocked the sun from reigning. With a faint twinge scraped through our my skin, I tried to look at the growling waves. Propping my palm on the back, I lifted up my head and welcomed the howling wind mixed with faint twinge from the sun.
The panorama of the widespread of the sea rolled unendingly. The mist blanketed the upper part of the sea as some surfers seemed to be allured by the rolling waves. Bellamy was on my side, as his palm propped on the sand on my back, his forearm was slightly grazing on my back. Parang binibigyan niya ako ng pagkakataong magpahinga sa kaniyang bisig.
"After you graduate, what are your plans?" Tanong niya, napasulyap sa akin.
"I'll take my board exam and while waiting for the result, I'll apply to some private school here."
"Are you..." He trailed off, "thinking of having a boyfriend after that?"
I shrugged, "I don't know. It depends."
Itinaas niya ang kaniyang kilay, "I hope you'll consider me,"
My heart hammered my chest. Napatingin ako sa kaniya at ang tanging mapupungay niyang mga mata ang tumambad sa akin. Breathing seemed to be an impossible task for me, my chest mounted, trying to reach the air I needed to intake. The stentorian wallops of my heart against my chest ripped the calmness that lodged in me. As the silver glow bathed the entire vicinity, the eyes of Bellamy gleamed with so much hope.
"Don't joke like that," I uttered and averted my gaze from him, my heart was still hammering against my chest as though it'll ravage my ribcage.
"I'm afraid I am not joking,"
"Bellamy, what about my sister?" Tumingin ako sa kaniya at nagulat ako no'ng nakita kong may lumandas na pagkabigla sa kaniyang mga mata.
His face darkened after I mentioned my sister. I knew that deep inside, Bellamy valued my sister. They shared the same interest and they'd been together for years now. According to Bellamy, they were best friends and I assumed that it was more than that. They had a relationship that was tightened with friendly bond and sexual communication. Maybe, Bellamy was a total libertine, a man whose interest was all about physical relationship.
"She has no say on this one," Bellamy uttered darkly.
Ayokong pahabain ang usapan. I tried to avert my eyes from Bellamy and redirected my eyes to the large swells on the sea. Because of the intense and thick wind, some particle of the sand whipped against my feet, grazing through my skin. As the wind dropped its intensified blow, my hair danced intricately as my thought drifted to what Bellamy said. He remained silent. Neither of us dared to maul the silence that rose between us. The growling waves made it easier to will away the knocking silence to solidify the creeping awkwardness between us.
A moment later, Bellamy rose abruptly and stood in front of me. A smile was now painted on his lips as he offered his hand to me. I squinted as I faced the glaring glow of the silver light from the sky. Bellamy moved a little to block the light and as a result, his face darkened obscenely as he tried to tug the side of his lips. His thick dark hair smoothly danced in accordance with the wind as the glow above us tried to emphasize his beauty as a human being. Hindi ko alam kung anong pinaplano niya ngunit kinuha ko nalang ang kaniyang kamay at hinayaan siyang hilain ako patayo.
While he was hauling me out of my trance, my eyes dived in the chasm of unfathomable adoration to his face; his perfectly carved nose, sharp and chiseled jaw, thick brows underneath his expressive pitch black eyes, and a playful lips which seemed inviting or alluring. As the sun inched away from the bank of clouds, its majestic ray sank downward, willing away the mist of silver glow, taking all the reign through its tantalizing golden glow. Bellamy, on the other hand, was bright as the golden shaft up above poured through him.
