CHAPTER ELEVEN
Saturday rolled in, making the touch of the wind more cool and crisp. The tingling cradle of the air ripped the warmth in my chest making me wheeze a little. The supremacy of the sun started to reign as it inched away from the thick set of clouds. Yellow shaft sank, ruining any trace of darkness, bathing the whole vicinity with nothing but a perfect golden glow. Trees started to dance as the wind kept the incoherent howls. Some leaves decided to leave as the cold gust promised for freedom. Dry leaves rattled along the surface, making the melody of the nature more incoherent but certainly soothing.
I was wearing a black sweater and a black fitted jeans with a pair of sneakers. Before I go to my Father house, I needed to go to the Library first. Sinabi naman ni Papa na lunch time iyon at nagpaalam naman na ako sa head ng library na maghahalf day ako.
A sharp exhale escaped my mouth as I saw a figure, a very familiar figure standing at the entrance of the library. Bellamy, wearing a white hoodie jacket, a khaki shorts and a pair flip flops. The aviators perfected to cover his eyes making me clueless of who or what he was looking at. But when his head turned to my direction, a smile stretched on his face and he ambled toward me.
His thick eyebrows were peeking atop his aviator and his perfectly sculpted jaw defined when he showed me his impeccable smile.
Why in a sudden, I forgot how to breathe?
"What are you doing here?" I asked, looking at him.
He rubbed the back of his neck and smiled as though he was so shy to admit something. The dimple on his right cheek showed and I almost stupefied by how perfect this man was. Was it possible? To be this perfect? It seemed so illegal and unfair.
"We'll have our finals next week, so I need to review," he drawled, his voice almost drowned by the screeches and beeps of the cars and other vehicles.
"And you cannot do it in your house?" I upped my brow.
He smirked, "Our house is packed with politicians, officials and other business associates, Everleigh. And I guess, the Library is open for everyone?"
Rolling my eyes, I sucked in an air to breathe. These past few days, Bellamy seemed to think that we were already friends— friends as if we had shared some treasured secrets or as if we shared same childhood experiences.
It was weird.
Odd.
I didn't know what to think.
When I entered the library, the footsteps of Bellamy was audible behind me. Like some boys who try to hit on me. Bellamy would rather say things as if those guys did something inhumane to him or something. He was also giving me advices— and that I need to be a good judge of character.
"I am a good judge of character!" I hissed that day, we were under the shade of Nara Tree, sitting nonchalantly.
"You are not!" He laughed and pointed again at man who was walking along the hallway.
"That's Kevin, I know him. He's gentleman and sweet—"
"See?" He mocked.
"What?"
"You easily deceived by their facades!" He hissed, "He's not trustworthy!"
I winced, suddenly felt the irritation welling up within me, "I am a good judge of character. Nahulaan ko nga kung anong klase kang lalaki,"
