Chapter 16.

Jason

She was lying on the floor, with blood over her head, I just saw her rolling up and down on the red car. I was speechless.

I just heard my mom calling my name.
" Jason, Jason".
But I couldn't move. Everyone was walking up and down. But I stayed on the same spot.

My dad hit my back, and I came back to reality. I ran to meet her lying there. Her heart was still beating.But very slowly. I wanted to carry her to my car and bring her to the hospital.

" No, don't shake her. Wait for the ambulance" my dad said.

The 5 minutes that passed seemed like an hour. I kept telling her to wake up and look at me.

"Abby wake up and look at me, please, open your eyes."

The ambulance came and I entered behind with her. They started cleaning her face, wounds on her body and asked me to narrate what happened. To be honest, I don't even know what happened.

We were at the hospital, they were to make a radiography to see if she doesn't have anything thing broken, since she wasn't awake.

I kept waiting in the waiting room. I searched for my phone, but I don't know where it is. It surely dropped it somewhere I don't remember. There's no way I could call Chris or Mom. They don't even know the name of the hospital. I kept walking up and down like I was waiting for a nurse to tell me my wife has given birth.

This is all my fault. If I wasn't doing that to her . All these wouldn't have happened. I'm the cause of that. I should've left her take her taxi and talk tomorrow. But no, I wanted her to do what I wanted.

After an hour, her doctor came out and asked where is her family.

" Abby Walters Family ?"

" Here I am " I said

"Who are you to her ?" I am Dr.Sam

" Her boyfriend". It sounded good. But I really want to be.

" There's a problem with her. She received a shock on her head but we are done with that. The problem is, she needs a rib surgery. I don't know if anyone in her family is compatible".

" I have a universal blood group. I don't know if I can give her my rib". I could have given her everything at that moment.

"Okay, we will get to the lab and make sure you're compatible first. Then we get to the surgery room where she is. "

" Yes".

Results came very fast. I guess it's because it's an urgent case. I gave my mom's number to the doctor for him to call her when everything will be over. And I was compatible.

I found myself lying next to her. Trying to save her life and my life by the way. They injected something into my arm and asked me to count from 10 to 0.

I later woke up in a room, in a bed with drips and some medecins on the table. I felt some pain but I guess they will give me painkillers. But for now, I wanted to know how Abby is, was the surgery sucessful ?

The doctor entered my room and saw I was up.

"Where are you doing to ?"

" I want to see Abby.... Dr Sam ?"

" She's fine, but still sleeping. Everything is Normal. She'll wake up in 6 to 8 hrs"

" What's the time ?"

" Almost 8am in the morning, I just called your mum and she's on her way".

" Thank you"

"She's in the room next to yours. But you need to rest first".

" Can you transfer me in her room ?"

" It's not possible, nor professional. It's one patient per room".

" Okay ". Then he left

My mother entered the room. She looked like she hasn't slept the whole night.

"Why didn't you call me to tell me where you were and what's going on .?" She said while hitting her hand bag on my arm.

" I don't know where my phone is. It's missen"

" You could have told me you were getting surgery".

" I'm grown up, I'm 25. I can take my own decisions. "

" But I'm still your mom. The doctor told me Abby is fine. Thanks to you. You saved her life"

" I just paid back what I owed her. I instead destroyed her life"

" What do you mean? "

" It's a long story. If you knew"

" Of course, I know".

"Know what exactly ?"

" Chris can't lie to me you know ?, I know you were supposed to fake a relationship, to dupe us" she said while hitting my leg now.

" Aww, it hurts mom"

" You made her lose her job and employed her later.i got all the details. We just wanted to know how far you'll go with this"

" I'm sorry. I knew I didn't have to do that"

" But, you did something a fake boyfriend will not have done. "

" I can hide anything from you right ?"

" No way. I know you fell in love with her"

" It's true. But she surely hates me and I think our lives will be less complicated if we had not met"

" I won't tell you anything. You said it yourself. You are matured enough to take your own decisions. I'll get out and buy some coffee. "

" Okay. "

5 minutes later, Chris entered.

" Bro... I heard you were going to die"

" Don't exaggerate everything. I'm fine"

He sat on my bed and said " Now, I recognize you"

" What do you mean? "

"You saved her life. If you knew how Stacy cried the whole night for her friend".

" How are you doing with her ? I said

"It's fine. I've found my soul mate. We're planning to rent an apartment together. "

" You'll finally leave mom's house"

" Yes, and she's happy to have some intimacy with her husband"

We both laughed. Then he said. .

" And Abby ?"

" I'm still confused. I think it's better to go separate ways and live our lives like they were before".

" Let me not hit you up now"

" Why ?, it's true. Her life became a disaster since she knew me"

"If you want something, go for it, or you'll never have it."

"Wait ?, you know too ?"

"That you like her ? Siiiince. I knew it before you could realize it"

" But I don't think it's reciprocal. Stacy didn't tell you anything about it ? "

" I'll not say anything. Let me go to work . We can't be absent together.

"Okay, but just help me get out of my room and get to her room. I want to stay there".

" Okay, but don't shake too much. "

I sat on the sofa in her room. Waiting for her wake up.
