I was too stunned to hug her back, so I just stood there limp and confused on what just happened.
Did we just... bond?
I thought that was impossible.
With her being this close to me I could smell her vanilla perfume and it reminded me of Johnny.
Johnny's favourite scent is good old fashioned vanilla.
She finally pulled away, her big green eyes staring into mine, her hands on her shoulders, she looked me in the eye before walking back into the living room.
I still needed a minute to process.
I thought that Sylvia was trying to get with Johnny every time she flirted with him or "accidentally touched him, but was she doing that to get Dally's attention and not Johnny's?
I mean I still didn't like the fact that she did it at all, but I felt some weight off my shoulder thinking that she didn't mean anything by it.
Maybe she wasn't so bad after all.
Maybe she just needed the gang to help her out too.
Maybe we could actually be friends.
Those thoughts didn't last long at all.
It was three hours into drinking and by now everyone was pretty buzzed, accept for Johnny and I, we only had one beer and didn't want to drink anymore.
I couldn't get over the fact that it tasted like what I imagined what piss would taste like.
Johnny, Pony and I were sitting on the couch, Sylvia in the chair next to the couch beside Johnny.
We were all just having a casual conversation when Sylvia would not to subtly touch Johnny's shoulder whenever he would talk.
I didn't want to think anything about it because I thought Sylvia and I had some bonding moment, but I couldn't help but not get aggravated.
Especially because I just told her about Dally being insecure and to not flirt with other guys, especially not the person he loves the most.
The less obvious she made it the more everyone grew uncomfortable in her presence.
I try giving her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she's a flirty drunk? After what happened in the kitchen I thought we could become friends, I wanted so hard to believe that we could, to try.
I sighed in relief once she got up from her chair to go the bathroom.
When she was gone everyone was pretty silent. We all knew what was happening, at least I wasn't the only one now.
I looked over to Dally who looked kinda upset, a slight frown on his lips, his eyes looking at the floor beneath him.
I looked over beside me to Johnny, his cheeks a hint of red from drinking. We might have only had one drink, but we were small and it was our first time drinking so that was all it took.
I got up from the couch to go outside for some fresh air.
Sitting in between Johnny and Pony while being a bit buzzed got me a bit sweaty.
I heard the door open behind me and I turn around to see Johnny, putting his hands in his pockets, "you okay?" he asks,"yeah, I just needed some fresh air" I tell him as I sit on the step, looking up at the white speckled sky.
Johnny sat beside me, his thigh and shoulder brushing against mine, I rested my head on his inviting shoulder.
"We can switch places" he says after a few seconds of silence. So he knew too.
