A/N: This is the last chapter, prepare the tissues.

~time skip. Vivian is around 8.~

Sans' phone rang. He saw Vivian's name on the screen and picked up in less than half a second.
"yes, princess, what happened?"

"Can you and dad come pick me up from school?"
Her voice was a little shaky, enough for Sans to start worrying.

"we'll be right there."
He ended the call and walked out in the hall.

"GRILLBY MOVE YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!"

Grillby came running down the stairs, almost falling over when he made it to the last three.
"Why are you yelling?"

"vivian called, c'mon, let's go get her from school."
He tried to sound calm. But, in his head, he was thinking how illegal it really is to beat up some eight year olds.

Vivian didn't usually have trouble with bullying, which made both of her dads really happy.
But she did have some people of... questionable morals... in the school, a few teachers, as well as colleagues.

Sans and Grillby teleported to the school and found the usual sea of people at the entrance: adults coming to take their kids from school just like them.

Vivian waved at them from a little further away and they walked to her.

"Hi!" She said, sadness creeping into her voice.

"hi, princess, what happened?" Sans smiled, taking the little backpack from her.

"Nothing much... Could we go get some ice-cream?"

Grillby nodded and Vivian took his hand, happily holding it the rest of the way.

They stopped at the ice-cream shop and brought ice-cream,  then sat on a bench to eat it.

"so, how was school?"

"It was fine."
Vivian said so quietly that it sounded like a whisper.

"What did you do?" Grillby pushed.

"We did some drawing and we talked a lot." She paused and ate a little more of the ice-cream. "Dad do you know who Jehovah is?"

Grillby and Sans shared a look over Vivian's head.

"where did you hear about him, kiddo?" Sans was the first to ask.

"A classmate told me. I didn't understand, but he was getting really mad at me for some reason."

She looked at the two adults. "Can you explain please?"

"Well, ummm..." Grillby was the one to start, but Sans interupted him.

"jehovah is a kind of god people believe in. this kid in your class was talking about his religion. what did you do that made him be so fired up?"

"Absolutely nothing." Vivian shook her head as she spoke. "He came to me and said I was going to hell because I was gay."

Grillby frowned and looked at her.
"You're gay?"

Vivian smiled and giggled. "I don't know and I don't really care. But that's what he said. And he said you are coming to hell with me."

Sans couldn't help but smile.
"yeah, that's what i thought. people who believe in what jehovah says usually don't like us."

Vivian looked at him confused. "What did you do to them?"

Grillby chuckled and put a hand on her shoulder. "Not us two, but men who like men and woman who like woman."

Vivian nodded like she understood.
"So why do they hate woman and men that are together with other woman and men?"

"They don't really have a good reason. They just do."

Vivian dropped her smile.
"That's not fair!" She pouted, looking at her feet, dangling lightly off the bench.

"i know, but we can just hope they will change their mind at some point."

Sans looked at her and his expression became serious.
"please be nice with your classmate, ok? even though he hurt you. because i don't think he knew what he was saying.  that was just what his parents thought him to say."

"And we, your parents, ask you to be nice to him, ok? Because we think that is the right thing to do."
Grillby completed.

Vivian nodded again and rested her head on Grillby's arm.
"I think he was just mad because my drawing was better than his."

The adults smiled.

"waht did you draw?" Sans asked.

"We had to draw our family. And I drew you, and dad, and uncle Paps and Raven, and uncle Flamo, and Ignis, and Fuku and Lava."

Grillby smiled.
"Why so many people?"

"Well, you're all my family! And the others come a lot to visit us, and I really like them."
She explained happily.

They finnished the ice-cream and decided to head home.

Grillby and Sans both held one of Vivian's hands, raising her in the air from time to time.

She was giggling all the way home.

And, once in front of their door, she hugged both of them.
"You're the best dads ever! She announced, making the two blush without knowing.

They were really a family, and they were happy. No matter what people thought.
Because there is no right or wrong way for a family to be, as long as they are happy.
