Sans immediately headed for the ruins. He met Frisk in the woods just outside the ruins door.

"don't ya know how to greet an old pal?"
He changed his speech, just for the fun of it. Hoping Frisk would at least give him half a smile. They just rolled their eyes.

"Yeah, right. Blabla my brother wants to catch a human... Blabla conveniently shaped lamp... Blabla some stupid puzzle is harder than the other kind of stupid puzzle. Just cut the speech, Sans. We both now it. Stop interrupting me all the time"

Sans wanted to say something, but stoped right as he opened his mouth. Frisk went on to hide behind the lamp and he talked to his brother. He hoped Frisk would chill before getting to fight Papyrus. Even though they promised a true pacifist, Sans ran short on trust.

He hoped things would cool down as they reached Waterfall.

Sans was waiting for them next to his telescope. "guess you don't wanna take a peak through my telescope?"

Frisk didn't respond. They sat on the floor of the cave, arms crossed. "I hate, hate, HATE Undyne."
They said after some silence.

Sans scratched his head. "right... wanma chill a little in snowdin? c'mon kid, i'll take you to grillby's."

Frisk nodded, and Sans alowed them to use one of his 'shortcuts'. When they made it to the entrance of the dinner, Frisk almost puked in the frozen bushes.

"How do you do that without wanting to die after?" They asked.

Sans shrugged. "i don't have a stomach. so it doesn't upset me."

Frisk gave him another eye roll.

Grillby's was welocming, as always. The two sat at the bar. Sans ordered ketchup for him and fries for Frisk.

"How's monster saving going?" Grillby asked when he returned with the food and drinks.
Frisk gave him a confused look.
"What? Sans told me that's what you hope to do, right?"

Frisk looked at Sans. He had some explaining to do. But he didn't say anything. He didn't even notice the kid eyeing him. He was too busy admiring Grillby as he talked.

"Well," Frisk thought they might as well respond. "It's going just fine. But everyone is so... strong. And determined. Almost more determined than me."

Grillbh gave a reashuring smile. "No momster could be more determined than a human. And I'm sure they're just a little scared."

"Yeah." Frisk's mood improved immediately after chatting with Grillby. So much so they couldn't stop talking about how fun it will be in Hotland. And how they hope to find Alphys in a good mood for some anime.

Them and Sans met one last time in the corridor.
"do ya want me to cut on the speech or do you want to hear how proud i am and shit?"
"Can you do all that at Grillby's? I swear to god I have to restore my hp. When travelling back here I'll buy something for the battles ahead of me, too."

"right, you still have to fight the king, the weed and the crazy goat kid."

Frisk laughed. "Something like that."

Grillby looked a little surprised when they came in. It was the 5th or 6th time they were there only this reset.

"You guys goin' for a record of how fast you can fill Sans' tab?"

"neah, i still won't pay that one." Sans' response came like a joke.

"Grillby, I'm sorry, I could pay for it if Sans can't afford or anyth-" Frisk felt the need to say.

They were interupted by the other two laughing.

"gee, kid, you really believed that, didnt ya?"

"Sans payed his tab long ago, no need to worry."

"yeah, it's just a joke now."

"Well, at that point it wasn't really a joke."

"we aren't talking about back then."

Grillby raised his hands in defeat and didn't say anything more. But now Frisk was curious.

"What happened? What's the story?"

"don't you have anything else to do then listen to us, kid?"

"Trust me, I'm not hurrying to go meet the king."

"fine then. i title this one "the history of my entire life or something"."
