Grillby lingered a little around Sans' livingroom. He got dressed again, and looked at his bedroom door multiple times.
"I DIDN'T MEAN IT LIKE THAT!" He yelled again, as he put his shoes on.
He opened the front door and was now ready to leave, but he still stopped in the doorway. He looked in the direction of the stairs, hoping for Sans to come down and tell him to stay. He wanted that really bad. So he just stood there, front door open, shoes on, waiting.
But nobody came...
With a sigh, Grillby got out of the house and closed the door behind him. It was past midnight, and the streets were empty. So much silence surrounding him, Grillby could swear he heard his heart crumble.
His head felt full of spiderwebs. The last ten minutes played in his head, covered in an annoying blurr. He saw himself hugging Sans and kissing him. Then a misty moment when everything was foggy, finishing with his lover loudly closing the bedroom door.
He said something. Grillby knew it. He said 'that'... The thing that got Sans all upset.
As he walked home, the only think Grillby thought about was that maybe he shouldn't have left. But then what could he possibly do? Sans had the power to call the police on him if he wanted. But he wasn't that mad, right?
Sans was sitting on his bedroom floor, his back resting on the door. He heard Grillby walk out of the house, but he didn't bother getting up.
Was that all Grillby wanted to do? To fuck him? Sans couldn't help but think that.
But he trusted Grillby. And he did yell twice that he 'didn't mean it like that'.
"men are trash." Sans said, acknowledging the fact that he, too, is a man. But that didn't make him any less of a piece of garbage.
Yes, he desperately wanted to go after Grillby and tell him he overreacted. Maybe Grillby really 'didn't mean it like that'.
And he needed the affection. He wanted back the kisses and the 'i love you's and he wanted his lover.Sans finally got up from the floor and went to the bathroom, looking in the mirror. He traced his flaws all over again, and gave in to all his thoughts.
He stood there, leaning over the sink until his mind convinced him Grillby olny used him. He just wanted to fuck him. He was almost a victim of rape. That was it.
It wasn't the logical explanation, but it was what those thoughts, that felt like they weren't even his, made Sans believe. He wanted with every fiber of his being to be wrong. But everything felt right.
In his fucked up mind, this was the truth.
He wasn't even aware of what he was doing when he summoned a bone and slashed at his hand. He didn't care. Not anymore. He is just a toy for everyone to use: his own father played with their lives like it was nothing; the kid and their resets; and now Grillby.
Blood poured to the floor, the fuzzy carpet below Sans' feet sucking it all in.
Sans caught his grasp on the world again. He realised what he has done now, as he always had. He awlays regreted it after. Like that would help in any way.
He stumbled to his room, and took his phone. Yes, he was mad, but he was also lonely.
He dialed the first number that came to mind."grillby?"
His voice craked a little but Sans was amazed the bartender even picked up."Sans?" Grillby's voice sounded worried and Sans suddenly didn't know what to say. A gross sob came out.
"Sans are you crying?" Grillby's voice grew even more concerned and Sans could hear he was running.
He let the tears fall and sobbed again, his bones slightly rattling.
Grillby suddenly hang up and Sans heard the front door open. Right, he didn't even lock it.
"Sans?" Grillby yelled from what he guessed was his livingroom.
He opened his bedroom door and Grillby made his way up the stairs, immediately entering the room with the open door.
He was met with a crying Sans, who lay on the floor, splashes of blood around him.
Grillby ran and scouped him up. He sat on the bed and looked at the cut on Sans's arm. It wasn't big, nor was it deep, but it was extremely messy, dry blood at its edges.
In a panic, Grillby took of his jacket and pressed it to the wound, hugging Sans harder and harder. He didn't let his tears fall out of his eyes.
He wanted to tell Sans how dumb he was. That he wasn't mad and he clearly didn't deserve him hurting himself. But he just stood there in silence, waiting for the skeleton to stop crying.
"god, i'm such a crybaby" he whispered when his breaths became calmer.
Grillby gave a pain filled smile. "I'm so sorry." he said. "This is all my fault. If I wasn't so dumb... I should have stayed here. I shouldn't have left. I shouldn't..."
He stopped talking as his throat tightened. He wouldn't cry, not now.
"it's fine, grillbz, i just... overreacted a bit."
Grillby gave another worried smile as he and Sans locked eyes.
Sans looked at his hand. "did you just distroy that sexy ass jacket with ny blood?"
Grillby chuckled. "It's fine, it was old anyway."
Sans smiled. "i liked that jacket."
Grillby laughed a little more and Sans cuddled into him. "that much for our first date, huh? sorry i transformed it in a complete disaster."Grillby rested his back on the wall and sat a little more comfortable, Sans still in his arms.
"You didnt ruin it, it's still great. I mean, we're both still here and together and I still love you.""cool. i thought i messed up that last one."
Grillby moved his arms so Sans' face was closer to his. "You can't get rid of my love. It will always be here."
Sans smiled."how sweet you are."
Grillby smiled back and kissed his forehead. "I'll get some stuff from the bathroom so we can take care of that cut."
Sans nodded. Being left only with his lover's jacket, he put it around him, finding it was kind of big for him. But it carried Grillby's smell, and, well, blood too. But Sans could ignore that for now.
A/N: 1080 words. Don't ask me what's going on here, I just blurted something out to get them to be together again because, how much I love angst, I can't stand broken couples and stuff. And this is only after the first date. Wow. And it's only Monday.
I'm getting ahead of myself... See you, dears!
