Second Phase of the Chunin Exams -Part 2

~Dosu POV~

"We need to get payback on that girl for slamming me into a wall." I said to my comrades.

~Y/n POV~

Everybody was either trying to find a scroll, or waiting for one to come to them. Then, we all heard someone screaming. I jumped at the sudden noise. "That sounded like someone screaming." said Sakura. The team listened silently, nothing to hear but the birds chirping. "I do not like this place." Sakura said. "I'm with you." I said. Naruto looked at the two of us. "It's nothing to be scared of it's gonna be a piece of cake!" Naruto said.

Naruto then ran over to the tree about to pee. "Oh no you don't!" Sakura and I both said while hitting Naruto over the head. "Not in front of me you don't find a bush or something!" Sakura shouted.

Naruto then went to find a bush, and not long after came back. "That was a lot, I wrote my whole name." my brother said. Something was off. Sasuke then proceeded to kick Naruto into a tree. Sasuke and I jumped into battle position.

"Sasuke it wasn't that bad, don't you think your going a little overboard?" Sakura asked. "Yeah what gives?" my "brother" asked. We both charged at the imposter. They backflipped onto a tree branch, I jumped on the tree branch with the person, kicking them off. "I knew it, my brother could never move like that, at least not yet he couldn't." I thought. Sakura was just standing there shocked and confused.

"Your transformation skills are worse then Naruto's, tell me who you are!" Sasuke shouted. "Yeah where the heck's my brother?!" I asked. The person then transformed back into their real form, revealing a rain ninja. "Alright you got me so what, I'm still gonna take your scroll now hand it over, or else." the rain ninja said. I wasn't telling him anything. "Fine then, I guess I'll just have to take all three of you out!" he said.

The rain ninja charged at the three of us. "[Y/n], go look for Naruto we'll handle him!" Sasuke said, using fire style on the rain ninja. I nodded, speeding off to find my brother. As I was running I heard my brother yell, "Hey get me out of this!" I threw a kunai at the rope, cutting it. "Thank you." my brother said, while I went after the rain ninja with Sasuke. The rain ninja threw kunai at us, but we both dodged, making the kunai hit the branch. Then I saw it, "Paper bomb!" I shouted.

Both me and Sasuke fell to the ground. The sound ninja picked me up putting the kunai to my throat. "Hand over the scroll or she dies." the rain ninja said. Sasuke just "tch'ed", looking angry, while Sakura shouted "[Y/n]!". A kunai was then thrown at the rain ninja but he dodged it and I fell to my knees. "Oh no you don't!" shouted my brother. My brother then helped me up.

Sasuke then focused his chakra on his foot, and threw the kunai at the ninja from the bottom of his shoe. The rain ninja dodged it, but Sasuke ended up punching him the stomach. He then stabbed the rain ninja with the kunai, making him run away.

"That proves that we can't just trust appearances. We have to come up with a way to prove we are who we say we are." Sasuke stated. You nodded in response. "Alright so what do we do?" Sakura asked. "We need a password." Sasuke said. Sasuke then came up with a password. The password question was, "When does a ninja strike?" and the answer is "A ninja waits until the time is right, when the enemy sleeps and drops his guard, when his weapons lie forgotten in the stillness of night. That is the moment for a ninja to strike."

It was easy for me to remember, but I couldn't say the same for my brother. Suddenly something sliced the side of Naruto's face. "Huh?" I asked looking at my brother, touching the tiny cut. In the midst of confusion, a huge gust of wind came. "What is it now?!" Sasuke asked. "Guys I-" before I could finish something hit my head and I was knocked out.

~Sasuke POV~

"Who is she? What is she?" I thought. I was about to call Sakura but she looked worse then me. "We've got to get out of here and get away from her. She's death." I thought.

Time skip brought to you by Sakura Haruno! "Sasuke! Wait up Sasuke!"

~Y/n POV~

Once I woke up, I was on someone's back. It was my brother's. I was confused, what happened? "In case your wondering what happened you were knocked out for a long time, we're already at the tower." said Sasuke.  "Oh, that means I didn't really get to do anything!" I said, frustrated. I was disappointed in myself, how could I be so weak? "Don't worry sis, the next part of the exam's about to start, so you'll get to do something!" my brother said cheerfully, while letting me off his back.

Nonetheless I felt very refreshed. "Alright, let's do this! I'm ready for real this time y'know!" I shouted. I noticed Sakura's hair was shorter, but I decided not to question it. Once I walked into the room, nobody was there. "What's the deal? There's nobody here." Naruto said. "Hold on a second just look at that." Sakura said pointing to a poster on the wall.

She then read out a riddle. "I think we're supposed to open and read the heaven and earth scrolls now." she said. Naruto and Sakura grabbed a scroll, they slowly opened them. Once the scrolls were opened, a summoning jutsu was used to summon, Iruka sensei? "Iruka sensei!" I shouted excitedly, and ran to give him a hug. He hugged me back and said, "Hey, long time no see huh?" while smiling.

The other three were confused. "Looks like you've gon through a lot in this test." he spoke. "Hey, wait, what's the deal with the surprise entry?" Naruto asked. "At the end of the second exam, we Chunin are supposed to welcome the test takers back. It was just good luck that I got to be the messenger for you guys!" he spoke. He then congratulated us on passing the second exam.

"First of all congratulations on finishing the second exam." Anko spoke. I actually made it, when I got knocked out, I thought I was dead. I could have sworn I'd seen somebody reaching out to me in a bright white light, but oh well, at least I made it. "Hey look, all of the leaf village rookies are here too." Sakura said. "Woah everybody's here." Naruto said. I just smiled. I'm glad everyone's safe.

The hokage then explained something about the true purpose of the exams, I listened to half of what he said but stopped listening once I got bored. Suddenly, Sasuke clenched his shoulder in pain. "Sasuke are you ok?" I asked. "Yeah I'm fine, don't worry about me." he said trying to hide the pain. "Sakura, what happened while I was out of it?" I asked her. "That weird lady we saw earlier who's name was Orochimaru bit Sasuke's shoulder, putting some type of mark on it." she whispered. "Sakura!" Sasuke shouted at her. All this happened while I was knocked out?

"Sasuke listen to me, you have got to quit." Sakura said. Naruto, Sasuke, and I gasped at Sakura. "You've been like this ever since you came in contact with Orochimaru, and it's getting worse." she said. He turned away from her. I understood Sakura's concern, but Sasuke wasn't gonna give up that easy. "Please, please Sasuke quit now before, I don't know. I'm scared." Sakura said while wiping tears away. Naruto and I made a worried expression.

Sakura kept pleading Sasuke to quit but he refused. "Just give it up Sakura!" I slightly yelled at her. She jumped at my sudden out burst. "Sasuke's resolve is too strong for him to suddenly quit these exams." I said to Sakura. Sometime after I said that, Kabuto left the exams. Then, I saw Sakura about to raise her hand to tell the proctors about the curse mark. Both me and Sasuke put her hand down. "Don't you even think about telling them about this curse mark." Sasuke said. "Don't go against his wishes, Sakura, please." I pleaded with her.

Tears welled up in her eyes, as she still tried to get him to quit. In the end Sakura just gave up and the explanation of the exams went on. "Now it's time to reveal what fate has chosen for you." the coughing man said. A panel behind the proctors opened. "The names of each pair of opponents are chosen completely at random. Before each match, these names will appear on the display behind me." he said. This was it, my time to shine.
