Little Nugget

Hawks was out on patrol sitting at the top of a building with his mind wandering. Lately, y/n has been acting very different than usual. He didn't know why but it's also brought a bunch of changes.

One night he woke up in the middle of the night and found y/n in the kitchen stashing something away and tried playing it off by saying she came for a glass of water. He later came to find out she was eating a few Oreos. Why? He didn't know. Not like Oreos were bought very often so he thought it was weird.

He's also noticed how she has changed with her moods. Sometimes she was fine and other times she was more irritable than usual. Regardless, she still wanted him to hold her close. Unless she was mad, she wanted her space and he just had to respect it.

Hawks didn't know how to approach this talk with y/n so he figured that she must be going through some other things but still felt kind of hurt that she wouldn't tell him directly what that was.

He ended patrol early and called it a day and went back home. He found that the apartment was not empty and y/n was sitting in the couch wrapped in a blanket watching TV while also eating what appeared to be mango.

"Hi babe. Everything go well today?" She chirped.

He walked over to her and kissed her. "Yeah, nothing much really." He managed to steal a piece of the cut up mango and ate it. He didn't expect it to be nearly frozen. "Why's it frozen, y/n?"

"I froze it pretty self explanatory, Keigo," she said back.

"Was regular mango just not cutting it or what?" He joked.

"No, I just really wanted something frozen earlier so I let it freeze for a while," y/n said. "It's really good though"

Hawks agreed as he took a few more pieces of mango from her bowl. They stayed cuddled up on the couch watching TV but they both fell asleep.

When they woke up, it was already late in the evening and they had yet to eat dinner. Keigo offered to go out and bring some takeout for them since no one was really in the mood to cook anything. They decided on what to eat and he was on his merry way.

Meanwhile, y/n was at home debating on how she wanted to break the news to Keigo. She'd found a way she wanted to do it but how would he take it in? Would he be upset or angry or...? No. She had to pull though with it. She's been hiding this from him for days now and it's been killing her.

It's a good thing Keigo came home rather quickly because otherwise y/n would've driven herself crazy.

They ate in comfortable silence mainly because it was already late and they were both very hungry.

Once they were done, y/n decided to hop in the shower and hopefully calm herself down. She excused herself but as she was doing so, she had to turn down Keigo's suggestive comments about joining her. Normally, she wouldn't really say no but she needed this time for herself to calm down.

"Aw, come on, kid," he pouted. Y/n laughed, here she was, dating Hawks, a top hero who was pouting like a little kid.

"No, Keigo. I don't need you to hog up the water from me today," y/n replied.

"Fine," he grumbled. "But I won't let you wear any of my shirts or hoodies tonight!"

"We'll see!" Y/n said cheerfully.

Obviously y/n did not listen and chose to wear one of Keigo's shirts after she got out of the shower. She headed to the closet and checked the area where she had left the little surprise and found that it was left untouched,

Thank god , y/n thought to herself.

In the living room, Keigo sat on the couch thinking of ways he could confront y/n about the changes lately. He didn't want to intimidate her by sounding too forward or scary but he also didn't want to word things wrong.

"Keigo?" Y/n said cautiously." Anything wrong?"

"Not really, " he started "but I need to talk to you about something." Y/n walked over to him and sat down next to him on the couch.

"What is it?" She asked.

"Lately, I've noticed that there has been something off about you," he started. "I don't know what it is but please, baby bird, you can tell me anything. I don't want you hiding things from me. I can't put a finger on it but you've almost suddenly changed from your appetite to your moods. Please tell me what's going on."

Y/n sighed. "Wait here, I'll be back." She got up and went to their room and brought back a small gift bag inside. This just got her a confused look from Keigo.

"What's that for?" He asked as he reached out to take it. Y/n held it back for a moment.

"Look, hopefully after you open this things fall into place. Also, please don't be mad or upset," she said with her eyes getting misty. She gave the bag to him and sat next to him and watched as he opened the bag. Time seemed to slow for a while. She gripped at her arms as she saw him lift what looked like a bundle of fabric out of the bag.

He unfolded it and what was wrapped inside fell back in the bag. But he was more curious on what the fabric was until he saw it was a baby onesie. At first confusion etched his face until he looked at what fell inside the bag and his eyes were wide open.

"Oh God," he said as he covered his mouth with his free hand. He stared down at the little onesie and pregnancy test. Tears were forming in his eyes.

"I'm pregnant," y/n revealed, a few tears running down her face. Next thing she knew, two strong arms wrapped around her body and held her close. "You're not upset or anything?"

Keigo pulled back and held her face. "Why would I be? This is great news!" He too, had a few happy tears running down his face. "Baby, why would you think I'd be upset?"

"Well, because you're always so busy especially with being a pro hero and stuff I'd thought you'd find it inconvenient to have a baby right now," y/n said.

"You're wrong, lovebird." He said."Yes, I may be busy but that doesn't mean that this is bad. We're having a baby! I'm beyond excited for that!"

Y/n wiped her eyes from the tears that were running down her face. She also reached up to Keigo's face and wiped his eyes too. Keigo gently cupped her face and kissed her. When they pulled apart, they were both holding each other's faces with their cheeks tinted a bit pink and smiles on both their faces.

"I love you, my lovebird," Keigo said. "I want you to get rid of those thoughts that I am upset about all this, alright? "

He leaned down to kiss her again and stroked her cheek with his thumb.

"I love you too, Keigo," y/n said softly as she held his face in her hands.

"As for you, I can't wait to meet you," Keigo said when he bent down to y/n's stomach and placed a gentle kiss on it too.

"You're ridiculous," y/n said as she laughed softly and ruffled his hair. He looked up at her and rolled his eyes but had a smile on his face.

"I'm so excited to be your papa and I promise to keep you as safe as possible. Your mommy and I already love you so much, nugget," he said as he placed more kisses to y/n's stomach.

Y/n giggled as he was also tickling her with his stubble whenever he'd place a kiss. He noticed and continued to just tickle her stomach with his stubble. He stopped after a while and gave her belly a few more kisses before standing up again.

He held her body close to his and lifted her face with his fingers. "Baby bird, I love you so much. Don't you ever forget that, okay. I'm really looking forward to this journey with you and I promise to protect you both."

Y/n looked at him adoringly and cupped his face again. He leaned into her touch. She brought his face to hers and kissed him. They pulled away after a few moment and they stared into each other's eyes. Y/n still held his his face in her hands.

"I'm also really excited about this too," y/n said. "And, I love you too Keigo."

Ok, I'm actually pretty happy about how this one turned out. However, I'm sorry it's so much longer. Do you guys not mind if these are short or long? Like, do you prefer if they're shorter or longer or does it just not matter? Regardless, I hope y'all liked this one because I like writing soft Hawks. It's gives me serotonin that I really need.
