Chapter Thirty: A Honeymoon To Forget

The weeks past and mostly everything went back to normal, only Nyssa noticed Jerome acting a little secretive, she wanted to trust him, but their past made that a little difficult, he left in the middle of the night again so Nyssa decided to follow him, she called a babysitter and left when they arrived, Jerome pulled up near a warehouse and Nyssa narrowed her eyebrows in confusion, he jumped out of the car happily and jogged inside, she snuck around the side and tried to look through a window but felt something stick into her back and she rolled her eyes "whoever you are.. you just made a big mistake pointing a gun at me" she grabbed their wrist quickly.

Jerome was inside looking when suddenly there was a gunshot from outside, Max, the man he was buying off of had all his men point their guns at the door and Jerome pointed his too, she door swung open and Jerome cackled and lowered his gun "hi baby" he said happily "Jerome.. you know this woman?" Max asked eyeing her seductively and Jerome felt annoyance grow but he couldn't act on it, not yet anyway "I sure do Maxi boy.. this is my beautiful partner.. Nyssa" Max got his men to lower their weapons "your partner?" "partner.. wife.. lover.. all the same" Nyssa tried to hide her shock when he called her his wife, but she knew it was just for whatever show Jerome was putting on.

He wrapped an arm protectively around her waist and was thankful he already purchased the thing of the most importance "congratulations.. I had no idea you were even in a relationship.. especially with a woman as beautiful as yours" Max smirked as he spoke and Jerome had to stop his anger from hitting his point "I like to keep her to myself.. you understand" "completely.. I would too" he eyed her up and down and Jerome tugged her a little closer "does the lovely lady speak?" Nyssa felt pissed off at this guy and she knew Jerome was too, but for whatever reason he wasn't acting on it, so she knew she couldn't either "I just didn't expect to be doing deals this late at night" "Maxi only works at night doll" she nodded her head and Max smirked "I assume you are happy with your purchase Mr Valeska?" "extremely" he started to slowly back away and brought Nyssa behind him as they finally reached the door.

He reached into his pocket and held a grenade behind him that no one could see except Nyssa and she smirked "this has been great.. we'll have to catch up next time" he said and Nyssa secretly pulled the pin and it dangled on her pointer finger "it was as always.. a pleasure Mr Valeska" "a pleasure indeed.. but before we go.. you wanna congratulate us?" "what for?" Jerome smirked darkly "I just gave her a ring" Nyssa smirked and held up the pin as it dangled on her finger and all their eyes went wide, Jerome threw the grenade and took her hand and ran to the car, they watched the warehouse blow to nothing but rubble and they both laughed maniacally.

Nyssa stood up but Jerome stayed on the ground and she looked at him questioningly "you followed me?" "I did" "why?" "you've been leaving every night for almost two weeks.. I wanted to know what you were doing" she prepared herself for him to throw a tantrum but instead he just smiled "you wouldn't be you, if you weren't a pain in my ass" he cackled and she smiled slightly "are we gonna get out of here? we did just murder about 20 people" she said and he grabbed her hand "you haven't asked me what I got from here" "okay I'll bite.. what did you get?" "an engagement ring" she looked at him for a minute and then laughed "seriously Jerome.. what did you get?" "I ain't joking, doll" he set himself on one knee and pulled out a giant diamond ring and she placed her hand over her mouth "I was gonna ask you in a more romantic place where there weren't bodies sizzling behind us.. but I think now is the perfect time" "Jerome.." "Nyssa.. I love you.. I can go into a whole big insanely over the top speech about how I love you.. but I kinda already did that to get you back.. so I'm kinda low on words" she laughed at his honesty and his sweetness "all I know is.. I wanna marry you.. and I hope you do too. so.. Nyssa Raatko-Al Ghul.. mother of my beautiful children and owner of my heart and soul.. will you marry me?" she choked on her words and nodded her head, he stood up and eyed her curiously and she playfully rolled her eyes "of course I'll marry you, idiot" he grinned happily and kissed her hard, they both drove home and celebrated their engagement.
