Chapter Twenty-Four: Guilt Ridden

Nyssa rolled over and instantly the events of last night replayed in her head, their lips pressed together, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled them down onto the couch, she straddled his waist and he kissed down her neck, she ran her hands through his hair and he slipped his hand up her shirt, suddenly the sound of a crying baby broke them from their intimate moment and she jumped off him and stepped back and covered her mouth "oh my god.. oh my god" he quickly stood up and straightened up "calm down.. we'll just- we'll pretend this never happened" "right.. right, it never happened" they both nodded and stared at each other awkwardly and Jeremiah spoke "Jerome can never find out about this" she nodded her head quickly "I agree.. it was nothing.. I was sad and it was a mistake.. it meant nothing" "right.. it meant nothing.. I should probably go" "yeah and I'll uh.. I'll go check on Crimson" "good night Nyssa" "good night, Jeremiah" he quickly left and she walked down the hall frantically.

 A knock to her front door pulled her from her thoughts and she cautiously walked to the front door, she jumped back slightly when she saw Jerome who looked at her worriedly "Nyssa, are you okay?" she nodded her head quickly and let him in "yeah.. sorry I just woke up from a bad dream" he nodded and stepped inside with a baby carrier and placed it on the couch, she went to the fridge and grabbed out a few bottles and put one in the microwave then handed it to Jerome who popped it in his baby's mouth, she walked down the hall and saw her baby smiling at her happily on her bed "good morning bubba.. did you sleep well?" her baby cooed and she brought her into the lounge room and laid her on her tummy on her mat.

Jerome smiled at her and leaned over and rubbed her back slightly while still feeding his son, after he finished feeding, Nyssa lifted him from the carrier and burped him then handed him back to Jerome who placed him on his tummy next to his smiling sister, only Jason fussed and Nyssa sat on her knees in front of the babies "I don't think he likes tummy time, Jerome" Jerome slid off the couch onto the floor and crossed his legs "he has to learn" Nyssa smiled and shook her head playfully while watching the little boy let out short broken cries, until he started to cry louder and longer and Nyssa's face turned worried "Jerome-" "I got him" he lifted him up and pulled him to his chest and he calmed down.

"He doesn't like tummy time" she said and he nodded "it's okay puppy.. you'll get there" he said sweetly and Nyssa tilted her head "puppy?" he just shrugged and smiled "it was the only thing I could think of calling him last night when I was tired and trying to calm him down.. he seemed to like it" she let out a small laugh "how did you go last night?" "a bit difficult.. he woke up a few times but we handled it.. didn't we puppy" he said the last part in a baby voice and nuzzled his face into Jason's belly making him laugh and Nyssa smiled "can you watch them while I make breakfast? I'll make you some too if you're hungry" "yeah I can watch them" she smiled and walked to the kitchen when Jerome piped up "hey did you talk to Miah last night? he's been really weird today" she had her back to him and her face dropped "weird.. how?" "I dunno, he's just.. off I guess" she took a deep breath and opened the fridge "we didn't really talk last night after I got home" "I just didn't expect him to be as affected by this all" she nodded quickly and turned to him.

"Who knows.. maybe him and Bruce had a fight.. you okay with eggs?" he nodded and she turned back around "yeah maybe.. or it might be the fact that you almost had sex with him last night" her eyes widened and she turned around quickly and he looked at her confused "are you okay?" "what did you say?" "I asked if you were okay" "no, before that" "I said it might be the fact that Talia randomly showed up last night.. are you okay?" she nodded quickly and took a deep breath, she realized it was all in her head and she turned back around "Nyss, if you want I can make breakfast and you can watch the kids.. maybe my brother will help you" she whipped around "what!?" "I said I don't mind helping you.. Nyssa just come over here and I'll make the food.. you're freaking me out" she realized she looked completely crazy, she nodded her head and sat down and Jerome went and finished breakfast.
