I almost closed the door. I had a very sharp pain replace the butterflies in my stomach. I should've planned what to say to him. I don't know what to say. My mind raced with words I wanted to say, but I couldn't put them all in a sentence.
"Hey- are you okay?" He said, seeing pain on my face and my hand on my stomach.
"Yeah- I don't know. My stomach hurts."
"Oh...." He said.
We were probably standing there in silence for a minute and a half, him outside and me standing at the door inside. It was really awkward.
I decided to break the silence.
"Oh-- Sorry. I got lost in thought," I said with a forced laugh.
I opened the door and let him inside.
We went upstairs to my bedroom and sat down on my bed.
We started right into conversation, as if that awkward moment downstairs didn't happen.
"I can't wait to start my job," I said, a bit sarcastically. "My boss is quite the people person."
"Heh. What's so bad about her?" he asked, picking up the sarcasm.
"She's kinda pushy. And she has a really annoying accent, like the Jersey accent, and...." I cut off, telling him what'd happened at my so-called interview.
"Damn. I feel bad for you," he said, snorting a small chuckle from his throat.
"Yeah. Me too," I said, wishing I had picked a different place to apply at.
"So what do you wanna do?" He asked, looking at me with a look I couldn't comprehend on him, because I have never seen him make it before.
"I dunno. You know, I haven't been knowing anything lately, have I?" I said, attempting a laugh. I just added that so we wouldn't go into an awkward silence, but it didn't work really at all. We went into a very awkward silence that lasted about a minute or two.
"So.... Do you wanna.... Order a pizza?" He asked, still awkwardly.
"Sure," I said.
"Okay. I'll call."
He dialed the number of a family owned pizza place called Mick's, which, of course, he had saved in his phone. He ordered the pizza to be delivered here.
"Fuck. An hour," he said after hanging up.
"Well what're we supposed to do in that time? I asked, hoping for a suggestion.
"I dunno...." He said, with a look of considering whether he should say something or not. He looked deep in thought.
I kind of got deep in thought too, but only for about a minute before Niall grabbed my chin with his thumb and forefinger and pulled my lips against his.
Fuck, it happened again. And it wasn't me this time.
But he tasted different this time. Like.... Dark chocolate. God, I hate that stuff. But with him, it was different. I don't know what it was. It was just different. And I liked it.
It felt like an eternity, sitting on his lap and leaning back against the wall. His hands on my face were really warm. They sent chills down my spine against my cold face. Thinking about the chocolate taste made me wonder what my mouth tastes like. Probably the last thing I ate. What was it?
Then, the eternity broke with a ring at the doorbell. Well, shit. Pizza's here a little early.

He pulled away and stood up, all too quickly I may say. It kind of took me by surprise. I stood up, wiping my mouth on my sleeve. I saw him do the same and felt like laughing for some reason.
He grabbed his wallet out of his back pocket and handed the man a $20. We got a large. He also handed him $3 for a tip.
We walked upstairs and sat on my bed. It was really weird, because we both ate the pizza and carried on conversation like we did before Josh came along, before he told me about his sister, and before we ever kissed.
