chapter forty-seven let you down

Adrien pov..
As i drove down that same street where I used to live. I saw my dad standing outside in the rain with tears down his face. When i steep out of my car. I grabbed and umbrella and walked towards him.
  Before I completely reached him I sighed and started to say these words.

Adrien" dad im sorry. Im sorry I'm not perfect. I'm sorry I'm not the son you want me to be. But listen to me im happy dad. You can't always control me forever. Im not your puppet dad. I know how to make my own choices for myself. I love this girl just like how you use to love mom. I love her and that little girl more than anything. Don't do this to me dad.

The reason I came here is to tell you that I want you to be there when I get married. I want you to see the smile on my face when I marry this lovely girl that changed my world. Just like mom changed yours. So dad please will you come to my wedding on Sunday? "

(Ughhh why does Adrien's father have to act this way. Sorry anyways back to the story.)

*Gabriel looks up and stands and grabs adrien by the head and pulls him into a hug.*

*Adrien drops the umbrella and cries on his dad's shoulder. Gabriel starts to speak while adrien sobs quietly.*

Gabriel" look in sorry to you and Marinette. I know i haven't been the best dad since your mother had been gone. But I guess the reason was behind it all i was scared that you were going to just leave me by myself. Your mother was everything to me and she was your mother and my wife. I know it hurted you but in reality it crushed me. My soulmate, my friend, and my love was gone. She faded off of this earth with her last breath saying the words " i love you " to the both of us.
    Im really sorry. I have been trying to forgive myself but I can't. I couldn't protect her. But I swore to her when she died that I would protect you until you didn't need my protection anymore. But now you have blossomed into a great young man. And will make a great husband to Marinette. She is very lucky to have her and she is lucky to have you."

*Adrien looks up at his dad and smiles*

Adrien" thanks dad I appreciate that. I know you miss mom. I mean i miss her to every now and then. But your right she is in a better place away from harm. I think that is the best way we can keep her safe from all of the danger in our world. I understand that you were trying to protect me and keep me safe away from all of the bad things. But in my eeys dad you made me feel really useless. I couldn't do anything because you were doing all of it for me. I love you dad but I can't let  you do all of the hard stuff for me. There will be times where I need your help and times when I don't.
   Look i know your scared but im not leaving you behind dad. But i am and I will get married to Marinette whether your with me or not. This decision was made by the both of us."

*Gabriel smiles and starts to speak once again in front of the bodyguard and his assistant Natalie*

Gabriel " you have my blessing adrien. I want to see you on your wedding day hapoy and excited to start a new chaltwr with the live of your life. And your right i can't prevent you from everything. Your mom would have said the same thing. So from now on i will leave you alone and you can do your own life. Your decisions will be what makes you happy or upset. But i will always be here for you and Marinette."
