"zemora black."

the eleven year old child lost her grasp on the wand in hand at the sudden sound of the strict voice. lucius malfoy resided by the doorframe of the young girl's room with a knowing look before making his way further inside.

books scattered the room alongside misplaced papers with scribbled words or half finished pieces of art. zemora studied the man with a steady eye, fear climbing her spine the longer the silence stood still.

"what have i told you?" lucius' metal cane was used against the child within a blink of an eye. "hmm?"

a hiss fell from zemora's lips as she pulled her wounded wrist to her chest. the child stared towards lucius with frightened eyes. "no magic."

"just like your mother." lucius tilted his head expectingly. "so stubborn."

lucius allowed his gaze to fall onto what zemora had been studying moments prior. the dark mark of voldemort was printed upon the paper, seemingly drawn by the child in question. lucius simply grinned in satisfaction before he quickly turned on his heel, leaving just as quickly as he'd come.

zemora trailed her fingers over the sketch as the hiss-like sound inside her mind grew louder by the second until it dispersed all together. the child closed her eyes as tightly as possible as she awaited the moment silence would return.

"mora!"

zemora shuffled from her position upon her bed to follow the sound of her cousin's voice down the hall. draco rounded the corner with a mischievous glint in his eye, an unknown book in hand.

"i got you a present." draco allowed zemora to take the book with ease, her features dancing with curiosity. "it's a book of spells. your mother's spells."

"how'd yo—"

"shh," draco pressed his finger against his cousin's lips as he caught sound of footsteps coming just down the hall. "you mustn't tell anyone i gave it to you, mora."

"okay." zemora whispered out once again, tracing her fingers upon the cover of the book. "thank you, dre."

draco willingly allowed zemora to hug his frame, the young boy returning the gesture only a moment later. "you're welcome."
