Richard always wondered what love felt like and after getting it wrong a number of times, he thought he finally had it right with you. He remembers that he saw your photo on hlthis mutual friend's Instagram before and he thought you were beautiful but he never really saw that at love. It wasn't until you two actually met that you both fell for each other. He'd never felt like this ever in his life before and he was absolutely positive this is what love felt like. He had kept himself from thinking about you to to the best of his abilities, however his mind wouldn't rest where it got to thd point that he hadn't stopped thinking about you. He accepted his feelings when it got to that point but never made any moves simply for the reason that you might say no and it may ruin the friendship you had built up over the last few hours so he kept it to himself and tried not to make it too obvious. You loved him too and felt almost the exact same way he felt. You accepted your feelings much quicker than he did, you accepted them as soon as they became something. You remember exactly when you fell in love with him. The exact moment and how it happened too.

"Oh my god Kelly! I don't want to go out!" You protested flicking away her makeup brush. "Oh come on! You never go out! You need to go out! Just this once?" You rolled your eyes. You have told her time and time again that you didn't want to meet anyone new but she insisted. At this point, you just gave in and proved her wrong by being a bit fo a dick to everybody you came across. "Fine but I'm just saying it's going to be like all the other times." She shakes her head and continues doing your makeup. "I doubt that very, very much my dear friend because I have found the perfect guy for you." Oh god. Not again.

Of course he wasn't the perfect guy and of course Kelly ended up running away with him for an hour or two before coming back. Every single time without fail she did this. Say there was a guy she picked for you, bring you out and then go away with him. You sat at the bar drinking like you usually did when this happened and to be honest, feeling quite lonely. Didn't she say she brought someone along for herself? Where was he? Why wasn't she running away with him? Oh well, whatever. Unsurprisingly, Kelly came back sweaty as did "my" date. "Sorry Y/n, Elijah was helping me with-" "Yeah yeah. Anyway, when can we go?" Kelly furrows her eyebrows. "We aren't going until you meet Richard. Once you meet Richard you can go if you want."

The seconds ticked by and still no sign of this Richard. Was all this waiting going to be worth it? It better be. You sat in a booth just watching the Kelly and Elijah mingle making shivers run up your spine and not in a good way. It just felt wrong that they were off with each other and now they were back here like nothing happened. "Kelly?" You turned your head to see the face to the voice. Your eyes looked up and couldn't be torn away from the sight in front of you. "Richard! It's about time you got here! This is Y/n, the girl I was telling you about." Richard looked down to me and offered a smile and a handshake. "Pleasure." He says. Did his voice get more pretty or what? "The pleasure is all mine." You reply. "Do you mind if I sit down?" You skooch over so he can sit beside you. Maybe tonight wasn't a bad idea after all. "Do you want a drink? We're going up to get some now!" Kelly shouts over the music. "You and Elijah?" You asked. "No. Me and you!" You just sat down for God's sake! "Fine! Excuse me Richard."

You made your way up to the bar with Kelly and place their order for the drinks. "So what was that all about?" Kelly asked. You turn around. "What do you mean?" She chuckled. "You know what I mean! I think you have a thing for Richard." You scoff but she doesn't buy your act for a minute. "I just met him how can I be so sure he's the guy for me?" She shakes her head and throws back a shot of tequila. "You are such a bad liar. Tell me the truth. Do you like him yes or no?" Silence between us. "Okay maybe." She laughs as the drinks are put onto a tray an dhanded to us. "He's just so gorgeous. Don't you think he's gorgeous? I don't think I've ever seen someone that good looking in my life." Kelly laughed at her friends rambling. She never heard her friend talk like this about someone but she could get used to it.

The pair walk back with the drinks trying their hardest not to spill them and succeeding up until they bumped into..."Oh. Richard." You look duo to see Richard with some of the drinks of his shirt but he looked back at you with most of them on your clothes. "Go get cleaned up you two. I'll bring whatever is left of the drinks back to the booth." Kelly said before leaving us both having to navigate our way out of the main area of the bar. You hated the bathrooms of this bar. Random people would be copped up in their either having sex or making out and it just grossed you out, what made it worse is that they were seperate into genders for some reason. It was just all one big bathroom. "Here's a few paper towels." Richard tore through the thoughts running through your mind by handing you some blue paper towels. "Thanks. I'm so sorry by the way. I wasn't looking where I was going." He chuckles patting down his shirt. "No, no. It's fine. I wasn't looking either. I hope you don't mind me asking but how often do you come here?"

"I don't come here. I haven't come here in about tow years but Kelly insists on bringing me all these different places to meet people she usually ends up banging in the bathroom." He laughs at your witty response. His laugh, as if you couldn't fall more in love with the guy you met half an hour ago. "Do you go to University?" He asked. "Yes. I go to Oxford. I study Communications. I'd like to work in that area. What about you? Where do you go?" You asked eager to know more about him. "I actually don't go to school. I drive cars for a living instead." You nod. "Like Karting?" He shook his head. "Not exactly. More like Formula 1 but I'm in a lower kind of thing. Formula 3."

"I'm sure you'll get to where you want to soon enough." You didn't know this but he smiled down at you with heart eyes. He had completely fallen and he fell hard. "I think we should go back out to the other two. Richard snapped from his thoughts when he heard you but agreed so away you went to have fun for the rest of the night.

And this brings us back to the present time, okay maybe a few hours later but relax. Kelly was absolutely wallpapered drunk and she needed to go home so you called a cab to take you because even though you drank very little, you still drank. You sat outside waiting for the cab when you heard footsteps rapidly approaching. You spin your head around to see Richard running up. "Hey Rich ard what's up-" "I think I love you." You are of the utmost confusion but your heartrate became quicker. "What do you mean? We just met." He didn't know how to explain this feeling because he'd never had to tell a girl he loved her the first time they met. "I don't know how I know but I know I haven't felt this way about anyone before. Can I just- give me a chance to prove it." You aren't sure what happened or why you did it but you stood before him, curled your arms around his neck and kissed him and he kissed back too. His lips felt warm and familiar with yours. You'd never kissed anyone like this before. So familiar yet so new. It was an extraordinary feeling.

You pull away from the kiss reluctantly but out of breath. He pushed your chin up to look into his eyes as you both smile. "So does this mean a date?" He asked. "Of course." You reply. "And your phone number?" You grab your phone and hand it to him to press his digits on the screen. "Okay so do you call me or how does this work?" He asked but the cab came and pulled up right in front of you. "I'll call you maybe tomorrow, I'll have nothing to do anyway." You said carrying Kelly over to the cab. "Okay. Well, goodnight." he said. "Goodnight." He pulled you back. "Can I just get one more kiss?" You nod and kiss him again but this time much slower. "Okay but I really need to go now. Goodbye." You got in the car before it drove off into the distance. You look back and see Richard waving you off. Now that was a good night out.
