This chapter deals with a sensitive subject, keep your mind open. I certainly don't mean to hurt anyone and would welcome any preview if you feel like sharing it.

-----—————————————————----

She was about 12 years old when she realised that something was ... different about her. She had never thought about it before, why she didn't like to run after girls but rather liked to spend time talking with them. Why it was, that she looked at her current best friend a bit too long at time. Why she woke up in the morning craving to see him. Or even why she felt so happy with just one of his smiles destined just for her.

But at some point, she understood. She just wasn't attracted to girls. She just was interested in boys and might even like her best friend more than just as a friend. However, as much as she would have loved to talk about it with someone and to, maybe, confess her feelings, she was far from being brainless. She was used to hearing her mom talking about how a boy had to be manly and gentlemanly. How girls had to be elegant, delicate as a flower and available only for their husband. Flirting and liking someone that the family didn't decide for you, was in no way possible. This rule was really clear for Ji Su and Su Ji. There was no choice in the matter, they will marry whoever their parents will choose. It was the best for the family.

Hence, even though she tried to show her heart silently to her best friend, she never uttered a word about her liking. And when he had left for another city without even saying a goodbye, she had just cried herself to sleep for almost a month. Her first broken heart had been a silent and lonely experience.

Something that until this day still caused a pang of hurt, when the thought popped in her head. Knowing that her mom might as well have been the reason for it, made Ji Su feel betrayed, overwhelmed by despair.

At last, it finally was the day Amber and Dean would go to their craftsmanship club. At the back of his head Dean had mixed up feeling, he was both nervous and excited to have the chance to meet Liam again. Externally he showed no emotions, as much as possible. He had a feeling that making himself too obvious might not be the best option at the moment. So far, except for one sentence at the camping and one polite smile at the shop, the older man had never shown interest in Dean. This wasn't a good sign and Dean didn't want it to be worsened by any mistake.

With his brother like girl friend, Dean entered the room where their club took place. In there you could not only find high sized tables and stools but also all the equipment they needed for their various craft making. So far they had tried their hand at basketwork in wicker as well as poterie. Amber and him had had a lot of fun with the latter, bordering on starting a clay ball battle. However they had known better than really doing it and settled for smearing on their faces. The former activity had been less fun but still interesting as they had learned a new skill.

Seating next to Amber, Dean was looking around searching for the man who would teach them from now on. He heard Amber snicker looking at him fidgeting on his high chair. He returned an apologetical smile, knowing full well he was ridiculous. To try to take his head off the wait, he started to talk with his friend about their lessons and coming evaluation. The French system worked by quarter rather than the basic international semester and Teachers were starting to talk about getting ready for the end of the ongoing one.

« Bonjour à tous ! (Hello everyone !) » the low voice resounded in the class and called on the attention of all the students present in the room.
