To See You Again [UWMA AU]

Chapter 6

« Hyung, do you know the way to your university ? Have you gone there yet ? »

« We had an University entrance exam last semester, so I have been to the campus...but I don't know how to get there from here. » Hyeon Jae answered the curious little guy with a polite smile.

He just arrived a few days before and this was the first time they had the occasion to talk, as Ji Su was busy with school until now. Hyeon Jae didn't know if Ji Su would be friendly with this stranger intruding in his house but he was set on having a good relationship with everyone and the little guy seemed the best person to start with.

« Would you be able to show me around Ji Su ? I know you must be busy with homework and all but if you have the time ... »

« When is your first day Hyung? I might be able to find some time this weekend if you want. »

« That's perfect ! We would have time to also visit the area around the Campus. I will help you with homework in exchange. »

« Deal. I might go to the same University anyway so that's useful for me. »

Both men exchanged a smile, the first of many, happy that they had someone to help them and started to plan their travel around the city.

They left on Sunday, as Saturday Ji Su had school and his club activities. They took a trolley bus right in front of their house and changed for a Tramway a bit later. The Campus was a good 20 minutes away leaving them time to chat around, exchanging small talk. Ji Su interrupted a few times to give his Hyung indications and landmarks or information that might be useful at some point. When their final stop approached, they dashed to the door calling the driver out to let them get down.

The University Campus was built on a hill, its front door welcoming students in the valley. Three to four story high buildings were visible among different alleys and parks. In the background, the mountain was domineering the school adding a special feeling to the compound. There were already students going around the campus, seniors organising events beforehand, freshmen doing paperworks, teachers and staff going around working ...

Hyeon Jae didn't feel out of place here as he already came here a while ago and was familiar with the campus. Ji Su, however, was still taking in the surrounding area, his eyes wide open, his hand gripping on his back bag to give herself assurance. Seeing the shy younger one on his side, Hyeon Jae smiled softly and asked him where he wanted to go first.

Without thinking much, Ji Su asked if there was a theatre and if they could start off with that. Agreeing to his request, Hyeon Jae led the way. They went around the campus, discovered facilities and buildings, laid in a park and then went out to grab some street food. They had such a good day and it was just the first of many more they would spend together.

On Monday, the gang was once again on the campus ground, waiting for their last respective class to begin after lunch. Even though they were all studying French as a major, they had had to choose optional subjects. Dean, who chose to keep studying Korean with Win, was seated on a bench, the now not so white haired men lazily lying, his head on Dean's laps. Amber who was filled in on their earlier talk this weekend was now asking Dean some questions to better grasp the situation. She suggested searching on Google for the Camping's owner's information and see if they could find out more about his family on social media.

The Camping site was already closed down before winter and with that Dean's hope for going back there soon. But that didn't mean that everything had disappeared as well. Dean was frustrated at himself, if only he had tried to talk to the man instead of just going blank, if he had not struggled so much he might have been able to have more information right now and not going around like a lost puppy. Even though he had lost a chance, it didn't mean that all was lost. After all, now he knew who he was looking for and he just had to follow every different lead he could. Dean suddenly realised that the new friends he had met here were enthusiastic about helping him and he was grateful at that though.
