Seething between his teeth, Liam got out of the bus he had taken to the bottom of the fortress wall. The place was beautiful. The lighting from early evening, enhancing the view. Starting with the giant door that sits on an island in the middle of Seoul's busy streets. Right behind and on the other side of the road where Liam had got down, was a small plaza opening on the hill that began there.

If he hadn't been so furious, Liam could have observed the intriguing Korean walls that were built on the ridge of it. It was a succession of small rectangular stone walls topped by another heavy stone in the shape of a roof. To follow the rising of the hill, each part of the fortress wall was a bit higher than the last one. On the part that was visible from Liam's side, the declivity was covered by green vivid grass, a trail going up and fading in the old street that disappeared in the far background.

And just at the bottom, wearing a white shirt over a just as white tee-shirt and a pair of jeans, was the man that he was going to meet. And maybe, just maybe, wring his neck to. Well, only if Liam could calm down his heart that was all too happy to see the damn man, after a full 24 hours without seeing him. Sighing and lowering his once, burning gaze, to the road, Liam lowered his tensed shoulders. He had already lost his previous rage. Just the sight of Dean's slender silhouette, his soft face with silky black hair, was doing things to Liam.

He was still annoyed to death but he wasn't furious anymore. And it was no surprise, he thought as he rolled the strap of his bag on his shoulder. Even in the state of mind he had been since yesterday, he still didn't forget to bring his boyfriend's handmade surprise. It just was well packed and hidden in his bag, not wanting to crush it in his hand with his temper risking to flare up at any moment.

Remembering his talk with Khun Pu in the late morning, he squared his shoulders and crossed the road. His strides were mechanical, his attention on the black haired man waiting for him on the other side.

« That might be why ... » mumbled Khun Pu in response to Liam's declaration, still lost in his thoughts.

« What do you mean Khun Pu ? »

« You have been raised in a culture that didn't take reincarnation into account, didn't you ? » he asked for confirmation, continuing when he received it « Which is probably why you might be able to distance yourself from your past life taking over your feelings. Or at least for it to have too much of an impact in the present. »

« Is that even possible ? » Liam asked curiously.

Before Khun Pu could even say a word to respond, Liam's eyes grew larger in realisation. He straightened his back, all muscles in his body, tensed. A swear word almost escaping his lips. He blocked it however, respecting both the person he was speaking to and the silent restaurant.

« Is that why ... » he couldn't believe what he was going to say « Is Dean acting up on those feelings right now ? »

Liam wanted to scream in frustration when he received the confirmation of his suspicions. Dean, that fool, was fleeing him for the mere reason that his past life had taken her life and abandoned her lover, his own past life. Wasn't he seeing what he was doing to them, right now ? In this present life ?

Gnashing his teeth, Liam took deep breaths. He needed to question further Khun Pu and asking violently would do no good. Forcing his jaws to loosen up, he took one last deep breath and looked straight in the older eyes.

They were face to face, their eyes devouring the other, taking in all their features as they stood silently on the side of the plaza. Dean had not said one word at all. His face, an open book where Liam could read a lot of emotions that he wasn't sure how to interpret. What was going on in that little head ?
