Everyone turned to face the two persons who had more or less shouted a name upon entering the restaurant private room. Said men were both sporting a stunned expression, mixed each with another feeling that the spectators couldn't explain.
Liam was frozen on sight. He had never met the elder man that was the center of his attention. Surrounded by the whole Min family, it was obvious that he was Yong Gi's grandfather and Aunty Kyeong Ja's father. But what sent Liam's mind into an overdrive was that he intimately and unexplainably knew that person.
He was lost and couldn't register what was happening around him. Although he felt a hand gripping at his biceps, he didn't register it and was lost in the darkness of his own mind. His eyes weren't focused, forgetting to see and understand who and what was happening in front of him.
This was the first time something like this happened to him. Not the fact that he was stunned or lost in thoughts. No. But the fact that he found himself knowing, by names, someone he had never met before. What was happening to him.
The hand on his biceps shook him, a voice calling his name many times, soon joined by another voice. Turning a blank face toward the hand that was shaking him, he just stared at it. The voice sounded louder to his ears, but he still couldn't make out who was saying what.
His eyes traveled back up, fixing the hand owner's face. His worried and wide opened eyes. His beautiful and silky black hair. His plump mouth opening and closing, probably articulating his name. Liam barely registered knowing that it was Dean who was calling him. And his mom too if he could trust what he almost could discern behind the slightly smaller man.
The two dark green orbs changed their aims and looked around. People were looking at him, questioning his strange reaction. But himself was lost for words. He couldn't form a sentence and didn't know how to explain the fact that he knew a stranger.
Following the motion given to him by Dean's strong arm, he was pulled toward the massive table and the tenth of chairs lined there. Dean pushed him to sit on one of them and he automatically obeyed, looking back up to his worried boyfriend.
Something was different about the tanned man. He seemed perplexed too but a certain confidence was brimming in his eyes. Stone like determination was visible on his face as he stood protectively above a still stunned Liam.
Their outburst might not have affected him as much as it had for Liam. But it did have the same effect. He seemed calmer. And that helped the older man to tense down.
Closing his eyes, Liam took a couple of big breathings. When he opened it again, he was now faced with two black pools that welcomed him with understanding and a patient acceptance. Guiding Liam back to the present and to what he felt for the man. He offered a weak smile that was quickly changed into more open when he was met with a tender one in response.
The smile they shared was full of affection and complicity, making it evident to the people witnessing their lovely moments. Snickers and laughter stirred them away from each other. Dean loudly jolted, startled to find himself back in a situation he had disconnected from.
Chuckling, Liam shuffled his black hair and stood up, standing right next to the younger man. Showing in his action his tranquil confidence in them and stable support to his boyfriend. They had made a big drama in front of his family and Dean was probably over-conscious of that fact right now.
« Seems like I don't need to introduce myself to you two. » said the oldest man in the room to the lovers « But I would prefer for you both to call me grandfather instead. »
Confused, the two men stared at him, still taken aback by their earlier outburst and the realisation that they were right.
« 할아버지, 안녕하십니까 ? (Halabeoji, annyeonghasibnikka ? - How are you Grandfather) » greeted officially Liam, soon followed by Dean in a polite bow.
