Irrational thoughts and an internal debate had taken place in Liam's head. Their talk and his realisation, making his mind a mess. It took a few days, weeks even, but he had had to accept it. He couldn't deny his own feelings. Not anymore.
Could he have been so blind that he didn't know his own feelings ?
Apparently, yes.
He had clearly fallen for a dark haired, hard shaped face, muscular bodied and tall young MAN. He didn't only like a man but he was completely alright with the fact. Apart from the first freak out, probably due to the realisation that it was unrequited more than the conclusion itself, he really didn't mind. He just never had been attracted to a man before.
It was a first, but if he thought about it, was it such a big deal ? He never had felt that it was unnatural when he saw others.
Feelings were feelings.
No, the real problem was elsewhere.
The man that he could now admit to like, was in love with a fictional character from his own mind. Liam's heart was shattered by this fact and couldn't get his head around it. Would he ever be able to convince Dean to look at the real him and not just at his fantasy ? Before he left ?
The positive point of this mind breaking realisation however, was that his anger, that had lasted for so long, had finally subsided. It had slowly faded as his heart and mind synchronised on one emotion only : love (and the resulting heartbreak).
Ultimately that's what helped him come around and try to take a step forward.
He had noticed the gloominess that hovered over Dean's head and had followed his heart. He wanted to know more about him, about the one who was making him go crazy from all those newly discovered emotions.
Unexpectedly he was rewarded from this small effort by the warmest, the loveliest word he had ever heard. Somehow he was liked back.
For himself.
Even if Liam himself wanted to rush to the slightly smaller man, to hug him and never let him go away. He needed to take it slow, to be sure that those feelings were as real as Dean said they were. The black haired man seemed to be overwhelmed by his feelings, although they were much brighter than before. So Liam took patience and waited for another occasion to take the next steps.
And how wonderful it had been.
Kissing was one way to express one's feelings. Liam couldn't thank Win more to have given him this golden opportunity to convey his love.
The first touch had been so fast, so quickly concluded that he couldn't let it end like that. Following his instinct, Liam had grabbed on the distancing and delicate tanned neck. Bringing the younger man back to his own height.
Without waiting for his protest, he just kissed him like there was no tomorrow.
If he hadn't heard gasp and whispers bellow them, Liam didn't know if he could have parted from the happily responding tanned man. His lips tasted so good, he wanted more. The heat radiating from his toned chest, reaching the darkest pit of his own being.
Unfortunately, nothing had played as he wanted.
Yes he had been able to let the sensible man understand his feelings. However, it had been so short lived. He had been called back to his reality. Missing the opportunity to spend Dean's last days in France with him. He was just damn lucky that the younger man had let him a chance to explain himself, before taking his plane back home.
Of course Liam didn't let the younger leave without a next step in mind. Long distance yes, but not for too long. But he needed Dean's cooperation.
