"Are these scrambled eggs supposed to be eggs that's scrambled or shells scrambled because mine is about 85% egg shells

"Are these scrambled eggs supposed to be eggs that's scrambled or shells scrambled because mine is about 85% egg shells." Daniel says as he squints his eyes at the plate splattered with breakfast I so generously prepared.

That ungrateful pickle.

As I am about to retaliate I hear someone sigh as if they were relived. I scan the small confined space we are currently stuffed in and my eyes land on Julio. There's joy sparkling in his eyes.

What did I do that was so problematic?

"Oh thank god! I was afraid to make any comments. I used to think my 3rd ex-wife was a horrible cook but this is inedible. No offense sweetie." Julio chimes in wiping some non existent sweat off his forehead. He then offers me a small smile which I return masking my anger.

3rd? Do you seduce them with some voodoo magic? I refrain myself from asking.

Daniel nearly chokes and spits out water he was chugging.

"3rd? Man I hardly can't keep up with one." I find myself looking at Aiden who is already looking at me.

Honestly I don't even care. Well at least I don't want to care.

Emotions!! Why are they so complicated?

"Julio, aren't you full of surprises?" I chuckle as I stab my toast with my fork.

We fall into an uncomfortable silence.

It's like our teacher randomly assigned us and we are forced to do a group project.

Except this group is my ex best friend who I still love, wait no I don't love him...I think , my current best friend whom I will be getting married to and a bald man who apparently has been married more times than I actually kissed someone.

What a fun group!

"So what number are you up to now?" Daniel asks as he munches on some crackers we found on a random self. I found it to be problematic but he insists it's better than eating my cooking.

"I found true love in my 5th wife. She completes me." Julio proudly announces.

"You know what they say, fifth times a charm." I encourage him with a smile.

Five?

This man is surely magic. I mean then again not everyone is miserable and looking for true love like me.

"The saying goes like 'third times a charm...' but Julio I am happy for you. True love, huh?" He ponders for a minute. "You are lucky." Aiden says as he stuffs his face with shells. I mean eggs.

It's their fault for assuming that I can cook just because I am a girl.

This misogynistic patriarchy culture is toxic to society.
