shifted

chapter 18- fourth year

    it was early in the morning, the light of the sun seeps into the common room windows. shit. i slept here. i sit straight up and draco is sitting there, his arms crossed. fast asleep. his messy blond hair falls right over his eyes.

   i get up off the couch and his eyes flutter open, noticing the movement. he looks alarmed, shocked maybe.

   "shit, we fell asleep here." he mumbles rubbing his tired eyes.

   "im sorry- i have to go, they're probably going to start coming down here soon." i say brushing through my hair, smiling a little.

   "yeah, yeah you're right." he says and gets up following me out of the common room.

   we both stop at the staircases and glance at each other.

   "thanks for- you know." draco says a little embarrassed.

   "anytime." i smile and head back into my dorm. thankfully pansy is still asleep, but she'll be up any moment. so i decide to get ready early.

  i take a hot shower, the water wakes me up a little and washes away my thoughts of the night before- a little. i can't help but remember our conversation late last night.

  i wish i could go back, to relive it. it was nice having a calm conversation with him, no fights. just a conversation.

alone.

   i stumble out of the shower taking the fresh towel, and drying my damp hair. i pull over my uniform, butting the buttons and tying the tie. as im applying my makeup pansy bangs on the door.

  "i have to get ready!" she yells.

  i walk over to the door, unlocking it. then return to brushing on some blush.

  "get up early, did you?" she asks brushing through her messy hair.

   "yeah, a little surprised?"

   "a little." i laugh and walk out, leaving her to get ready.

   i grab my bag my and leave the dorm, walking back to, you guessed it. the common room. surprisingly no ones here, i walk over to the couch me and draco slept in. the mark of my body and his still imprinted on the cushions. my blanket lays lazily over to the side i slept on, the pillows on the floor.

i clean it up, no one will ever notice it was slept in. by not one but two students.

  i rub my head, remembering the night again. replaying the conversations over and over again.

his smile, his laugh- his voice.

  my thoughts come to an end when i notice a student walk in. it's blaise.

"good morning y/n." he says walking over to me.

"good morning to you too blaise." i smile taking a seat on the couch. he sits beside me, where draco sat.

"are you excited for the name drawling today?" he asks obviously excited.

"it's today?" i say smiling.

"of course it's today silly." he says nudging me in the arm.

"well then yes i am very excited." he smirks, then looks at the time.

"let's go, breakfast is starting soon." he says and we walk out towards the great hall.

i see draco and pansy talking and they see blaise and i. i wave them over to us and we all walk to lunch together. draco walking directly behind me. i wonder if he's looking at me.
