Rock and roll.

I have varying tastes
Rap, rock, musical theatre, hip hop or whatever the radio thinks is a hot trend
But one thing I will never forget
Is the first time my ears rang
From a rock and roll show
The way the musicians injected their instruments with passion
I couldn't even believe what was about to happen.

I started to think 'i wanna be up there too'
But I don't know what I'd say or do with no talent to play.

I've tried to write and write but nothing works
My own words don't move me
No matter how much I'm hurt
I can't be a tortured artist if I can't express my hurt in writing.

Everything stings like I've just had a shot of whiskey
Secondhand high
Everybody smokes weed in the crowd
It's rock and roll to do what you want
Say fuck you to a stupid rule
The cops don't matter
We are all equal.

These marks on my skin don't show that I'm strong
Scars and tattoos they are all the same
Actions speak louder than words
That will never change

It's rock and roll to not do what they say
So be yourself every single day
Because in the famous words of the late cobain
'Everybody else is taken'
Be yourself, everybody else is taken
And you know what else
I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for acting like somebody I'm not
So rest in peace to kurt
Our fallen angel in the rock and roll hall of fame
And let me pay homage to every broken artist turner insane by fame
Every legend taken too soon
And others who have cheated death.
Kickstart my heart and take my last breath.

Never do what they say
And you will keep the passion flame lit.
The music may no longer be played on the mainstream station
But the attitude is still very much needed to give the world a much needed awakening.
Seems to me we all follow like sheep nowadays
But instead of going back in time to the questionable fashion sense and promiscuity of the 70's, 80's and 90's
Why don't we tell everybody what needs to be happening.

When you're born in the wrong time, you make it your own.
You stand out.
You be proud.
Anarchy is the agenda of rock and roll.
