I stared at the ceiling and then rolled over to get my phone from the nightstand. Wait.. Where's my phone? And where am I? I sat up and looked around the small room. Oh, right.. I'm in my hotel room. I had arrived in England around 2am and had decided to sleep in a hotel. I don't want to bother Lando at that time, so now I'm going to confront him after breakfast. I found my phone between the sheets of the bed and checked the time: 8.13am. I've never felt so well-rested with only 6 hours of sleep before.. Oh well, could be the adrenalin. I grabbed my stuff and went to the dining area. Hmm, I'm not that hungry, so a little yogurt and fresh juice will be enough. Sitting down at one of the tables I got my phone out of my pocket. Most of the messages I had were from the group chat, wishing me luck for today's event. Max had sent me a private message as well, asking me to call him when I left Lando's place.

After finishing up my breakfast I put everything away and checked out. I hopped back in my car and started driving to Lando's. The drive is only around 20 minutes from the hotel, which is quite nice. Ahh damn, I still need to drive the whole way back home once I'm done here. The boy better listens, otherwise this is such a waste of energy and time. Okay, no, anything that has to do with Lando is not a waste of time. Ughh, why do the feelings need to rise again now? He's been together with that girl for four months now and is ignoring me for almost two months.

Arriving at his house I parked my car on the driveway and walked to the door. Nerves rose in my chest, but I rang the bell anyway. "Who is here at this damn hour?!" Jane's voice came from inside and I stifled a laugh. Of course she would be the one complaining. The door opened and my eyes connected with those of Jane. "What are you doing here?" She spat at me and rolled her eyes. "I'm here to speak to Lando." I said with confidence. "Lando isn't home right now." She stated and as she said that I saw Lando walking behind her through the hall. "If he's not, why did he just walk past us two seconds ago?" I shot back and took a step forward. "I just need to speak to him, something business related." I said and pushed past her, letting myself in.

"[Y/N]! What are you doing here?" Lando said surprised as he was about to walk up the stairs again. "I came here for you.. We need to discuss something." He didn't respond but then nodded. "Let's go then." He said and walked up the stairs, me following close behind and leaving Jane at the door.

"So.. What did you want to discuss?" He asked once we had sat down in his gaming room. "How has your mother been?" I asked him, I feel like this is the best way to confront him about it.. Anyway, who knows because how many people are in this position? Lando stared at me confused and I sat up in my chair. "Good, I guess.." He answered and I shook my head. "She's not feeling good, she's worried about her son who hasn't responded to her messages or calls for a month." Lando sighed and I crossed my arms over my chest. "Lando, you probably don't want to hear this...but we're all really worried about you.. You haven't been yourself since you got something with Jane and rejected me." I said and his expression changed into an angry one. "You're right, I don't want to hear it because that isn't true! You should go!" He said and pulled me out of the chair and pushed me out of the room. He closed the door with a loud bang that sent shivers down my spine. Well, that went good.. I walked downstairs and found Jane in the living room.

"See, he doesn't want to waste his time with someone like you." She said and threw her hair over her shoulder. "Someone like me? I actually care about him, just drove 7 hours to be flipped off after 2 minutes and I'm not making a big deal out of it. I care about his family and friends that are worried about him, unlike you." I said in an angered tone and she just laughed. "You think you care about him? I'm his girlfriend, I know what's right for him."

"I think Lando is the only person who knows what's right for him. I'm just here to show him what he's leaving behind for a wimp like you. Caring for him doesn't mean cutting off all his contacts. It means being there for him in both the good and the bad times, giving him his space when he needs it, which includes having his own friends, contact with his family and time to pursue his own hobbies..." She cut me off by pushing me against the wall, my head hitting it hard. "I don't care! You're not his girlfriend and you'll never be." She said and I tried to push her off of me, but my hands were shaking and couldn't push her away hard. "You don't know what love is! You don't know what it's like to fight for the people you love, so don't ever tell me you know what's best for Lando." I told her and she gripped onto my hair, yanking it and making my head slam against the wall again.

"Shut up! You just want Lando all to yourself! I'm the one he's holding at night, not you! And what do you even know about love? Your own family abandoned you." She said and pushed her away from me again. "You crossed a line there." I said in a soft but stern voice. Damn, didn't know that it could still hurt after so long.. A heavy feeling settled in my chest and now I just want to curl up in my own bed.

"Well, you crossed a line by coming here in the first place!" She spat in my face and slammed a hard object onto my head, making the object break and the pieces were laying on the floor. She then pushed me in the direction of the door. Part of me wanted to turn around and fight back, but the bigger part of me told me to just give up. I walked out of the door and made my way to my car, a wave of dizziness coming over me. That hit was really hard..

My hand went to the back of my head and I felt something sticky. I looked at my hand and saw dark red blood on it. Lovely. I came to my car and needed to hold onto it in order to not fall to the ground. Everything was spinning around me and I felt my head lull back. "Careful.." A voice said behind me and I felt two strong hands wrapping around my waist. Who is this man? I tried to look at him by moving my head, but my sight was to blurry to see who it was. "Phone.. Call Daniel.." I told the man and tried to hold onto him. He grabbed my phone from me and I told him my code, isn't really smart but I need Daniel right now. The phone rang and then Dan's voice filled my ears. "[Y/N]! How did it go? I thought you were supposed to call Max first, or did you call him already?"

"Dan.." I choked out so the man continued. "The girl was about to faint when I saw her, she said she needed to call you.."

"Fuck! I'm on my way! Sir, please stay with her until I'm there.." He hung up and the man put my phone in my hand.

"Let's sit you down." He said and helped me lower myself until I was sitting on the concrete of Lando's driveway. His arms left my waist and he took a step away from me. "Sir, what's your name?" I asked but got now response. Did he leave? I still can't see since my vision is still too blurry. "Sir?" Again, no response. He left.. I sat there and slowly my vision got better, but I still felt dizzy and I couldn't see completely normal.

"[Y/N]!" Daniel's voice called out from afar and I waved my arm around, hoping he would notice me. "I'm so glad you're okay!" Daniel's voice was closer now and I felt his hands on my shoulders. I saw the outlines of his face in front of me, but wasn't able to catch the details of his face. "What happened?" He asked and pulled me in for a hug. "His girlfriend pushed me against the wall twice, I think those blows were too hard for my head.." I said, luckily I can speak more than a few minutes ago. "You're bleeding!" He said after feeling the back of my head. "Yeah, and I'm still dizzy. My vision is getting better though." I told him and Daniel gasped. "We're going to get you checked out by a doctor, just to be sure." Daniel said and I nodded. Daniel stood up, I think he got my car keys and unlocked my car before coming back to me.

"How did you get here so fast?" I asked him as he helped me to stand on my own feet. "On a bike it's only 20 minutes, if I'm full of adrenalin then it's 10." He said and I laughed. He helped me get in the passenger seat and then got behind the wheel. He turned the key, starting the car and then drove off to the nearest hospital.

"Luckily you're just on bedrest." Daniel said as we got back into the car. "Yeah, I don't want to stay the night in a hospital.." Daniel laughed and started the car again. "You can stay at mine as long as you like." I told him as I rested my head against the headrest. The doctor stitched the wound, so luckily it isn't bleeding anymore. They also did a scan, due to my vision staying unclear for a long time and they found out that my brain had taken some damage, but it's only light and it probably won't have any other harm. The think it's only a concussion, which m happy about.

My vision had come back completely during the examination, which I'm happy about. The doctor just put me on bedrest to be sure that I won't provoke the braindamage to do more damage. "I think I'll be staying until I need to leave for the next race, which is four or five days I think." Daniel said and drove onto the highway. He will be bringing me home and watch me during my time on bedrest. "Okay. Thanks again for helping me out." I said and he smiled at me. "No problem, sweets. Now, you better call Max before he's freaking out too much!" He said and I laughed while unlocking my phone and dialing Max' number. I inhaled deeply and pressed call, ready to tell him that we aren't going to get Lando back.
