Chapter 17

After placing [Y/N]'s phone back in her hands I helped her to sit down. Blood was still coming out of the wound and her vision was still blurry. I wanted to wait until Daniel came, but.. He hates me.. Especially when he sees what happened to [Y/N].. I walked back to my house and looked back when she called our for me. She looks like a lost puppy, in need of help of the people around her. Daniel will be here soon enough. I walked back inside and closed the door behind me. Luckily, Jane hasn't returned yet. I heard the two of them argue and after [Y/N] stormed out, Jane stormed out of the back. When I saw that [Y/N] was walking unsteady I knew I had to help her.

I sat down on the couch and looked at the back door. Jane told me to never leave the house, except when it's for dates or races. Wait, I sound like a prisoner right now. It's not like that.. Right? What did [Y/N] say again? That she was here to tell me what I was leaving behind.. Okay, Lando, stop,, get your thoughts straight. [Y/N] came here, by car. That's a seven hour drive. She asked me about my mom, I got mad. She went downstairs and got into a fight with Jane. Jane told her that [Y/N] will never be my girlfriend. [Y/N] went on about how she cares more about me than Jane does. She also said something about family and friends. Well, I don't have many friends after I cut them off and I haven't spoken to my family in about two months...

Wait! This is what [Y/N]'s been talking about! Ever since I rejected [Y/N], Jane started to disconnect me from the outside world, my friends and family. [Y/N]'s right! I got up from the couch and ran to the door. Hopefully she's still on the driveway with Daniel. I opened the door and only saw a bike.. That must be Daniel's.. Oh my.. I left her behind when she was injured.. I'm so stupid.. How did I not see Jane's toxic threats? Wait, I need to find a way to reach out to people, since Jane has my phone.. The shops are still open, I can get a phone that I will hide from Jane and use the excuse that I was out looking for her. That will do, right?

After carefully hiding my new phone I let myself fall into my gaming chair. That's settled. When Jane is asleep I will text [Y/N], of course asking how she's doing and then telling her that I believe her and I should have chosen her. I can't break up with Jane, not right now. She has too much control over me and I'm scared of what she'll do to my friends and family. I'll need help from [Y/N]. Ohh, I really hope she's doing okay..

"Do you need anything, [Y/N]?" Daniel asked in a soft tone. "No, thank you, Dan." I said, still having my eyes closed. We arrived around 9pm yesterday and both of us instantly went to bed. We were just so tired of both the events and the drive from yesterday. "How are you feeling, darling?" Daniel asked and I slightly opened my eyes. Daniel was squatting beside my bed, looking at me. "I have a headache, I also feel dizzy and there is a ringing in my ears." I said and Daniel nodded.

"Your doctor called. He received the information from the hospital in England and will take further steps. He said that you need to take the bed rest seriously, as the symptoms could show up days after the incident. He told me that it's confirmed that it is a concussion and not heavy brain damage." I nodded and Daniel grabbed his phone. "He said that that the following symptoms could show: blurry vision, trouble remembering new stuff, difficulty hearing, ringing in your ear, changes in emotions or sleep, headaches, nausea and trouble speaking." damn, that's a lot to remember.. "Thank you, Daniel." I smiled and grabbed his hand.

"It makes me sad that we basically lost Lando yesterday." I said and Daniel nodded. "I know, darling.. But we've tried a lot and I don't know what we could do more.." Daniel said and then the door opened. Max stood in the doorway. He came over as soon as he got my phonecall, not wanting me to be alone. I told him Daniel would be here as well, so I wouldn't be alone, but he still decided to come. "I miss him.." Max said and I nodded, extending my arm to him. Max climbed onto my bed and I cuddled against him. "I miss him too, Maxy.." I said and Max wrapped his arm around me.
