Present

A week passed by and Jungkook's father had brought in all of their items. Even though Jihyo spent the daytime settling in their house and arranging all of their stuff, she came back at night to sleep with Jungkook and Seokjin.

Jungkook and Seokjin were slowly getting used to the tight schedule and tiring work. As neither of them were used to working so much, they passed out on their beds every night out of exhaustion, while the whimpers of the person under them went unnoticed.

Jihyo, being the heavy sleeper that she was, never woke up to those whimpers.

It was early in the morning after a week, when Jungkook found himself silently crying in his sleep, dreaming about 'that' night at the park.

But the only change in his dream was that when he went back to the park early in the morning, Taehyung was there in the park, with his knees drawn to his chest and his arms around his knees.

Even though it seemed like he was sleeping, Jungkook could hear him whimper because of the cold in the park.

"Tae...baby....Taehyung-ah.....wake up, baby....Taehy-" he was cut off by another loud whimper. And before he could put a jacket around him, he evaporated. He literally evaporated into thin air.

That had him jolting awake with tears running down his face. He noticed his mother and Seokjin sleeping and thus buried his face into his hands and began to cry silently.

After crying for long, he spaced out on the handle of the closet. It was then that he first heard it.

The whimper.

His first thought was that he was hallucinating because of the dream. But the faint whimpers kept continuing. He gasped. It was exactly the same whimper as the one in his dream.

It was....

It was Taehyung's voice.

He paid attention and heard it again. He was sure it was Taehyung's voice. There was no doubt in it.

He ran to his closet and dug out the journal of the previous tenant from the bottom-most shelf and ran to the living room so that he wouldn't disturb the other two.

He switched a small bulb on and began to skim through the pages to find what he was looking for. It didn't take long for him to find it.

September 21

It is so weird. I've never heard whimpers and all those random noises before. It is as if the house is suddenly being haunted. It is really creeping me out. The whimpers kept me up the whole night. Ughhh, so freaking creepy!

'September 21...September 21.......September 19' Jungkook remembered the date when the two of them fought in the park. It was September 19. He sat and thought for long before it hit him.

'Taehyung is haunting this fucking house' he realized and sprang up from the couch. He began pacing around the room with a furious speed as he thought about the epiphany he just had.

He wasn't going to leave. There was no way he was going to leave.

He was going to stay up all night, every night, and make sure he didn't miss a single whimper or sound that came from the ghost of the love of his life.

Even if that meant he would be sacrificing his sleep every night, he was ready to do it.

He realized that he was wasting time already, and ran back to the bedroom. He sat down with his back against the closet and drew his knees close to his chest, wrapping his arms around them.

It didn't take long for him to concentrate.

And there it was.

The voice of the love of his life.

He tried to stay as quiet as possible, without even sniffling the snot back, so that he could hear the whimpers clearly.

"Kookie...?" Seokjin called out with a groggy voice. "What the he-" "Shhhhhh" he silenced him angrily and glared at him before looking back at the floor to listen to Taehyung's voice.

"What's wro-" "Shhhhh" Jungkook silenced him again.

"Jun-" "Shut up!!" Jungkook glared at him fiercely.

Seokjin frowned and joined him on the floor. It didn't take long for him to realize why Jungkook was behaving that way. He gasped when heard the first whimper.

"Isn't.....Isn't that Taehy-" "Yes, it is. Now shut up" Jungkook said. The two of them sat and listened to the whimpers for a while before Seokjin realized something else.

The sounds seemed to be coming from the floor rather than from thin air.

'What the hell? What kind of ghost makes sounds from the floor?' he thought as he bent down and stuck his ear to the floor.

"What are yo-" "Shhh" Seokjin silenced Jungkook this time with a finger on his lips. He frowned, realizing that the whimpers were indeed coming from the floor.

Under the floor.

His eyes widened as he looked at Jungkook. Jungkook somehow understood what Seokjin was trying to do and did the same thing.

It didn't take long for his eyes to bulge out of his sockets at the whimpers that seemed to come from under the floor.

"Hyung!" he croaked out, too shocked to say anything else. Unfortunately, Seokjin wasn't doing any better. He looked like he was going to pass out any moment.

"R-Remember how this floor is weaker than the floor in the living room?" Seokjin asked. "Y-Yeah" Jungkook said. "What now?" Seokjin asked.

"I don't know, I don't know anything. I wish what I am thinking right now is true. But I don't wish so too. Oh my god, what do I do, hyung?" Jungkook asked, frantically pulling his hair out.

"Kookie? Jin? What's wrong?" Jihyo suddenly asked. "Come here, Ajeomma" Seokjin said and asked her to stick her ear to the floor. Her eyes widened as she realized what all the commotion was about.

"That's Taehy-" "Yes, it is. I thought he was haunting this house or something, but I don't think so anymore. We need to open up the floor" Jungkook said.

"Ohh! Your father learnt carpentry as a hobby. He has the tools to open up the boards of the flo-" just like his little self, he didn't let her complete her sentence before sprinting out of the house.

"Appa!! Appa!! Appa! APPA!! APPA, OPEN THE DOOR" he yelled as he banged forcefully on his parents' house.

"W-What the hell, Kookie?" Mr. Jeon asked groggily, opening the door with one of his eyes still closed.

"Taehyung! Under the floor" he frantically gestured back to his own house. "Hey, calm down. Tell me properly. What's wrong?" Mr. Jeon asked, every trace of sleep wiped clean from his features.

"Taehyung...whimpers...Appa, I think......Taehyung is under...bedroom. You.......open up.........floorboards. Eomma...said you....carpentry...your hobby.." he was freaking out too much to be able to form proper sentences.

"Oh my god. I'm coming. Come and help me carry the tools" Mr. Jeon said, running in to get the tools, with Jungkook hot on his heels.
