Jungkook gasped at the sight in front of him.

There he was.

The love of his life.

Lying almost lifeless right under him.

But that wasn't what his mind was screaming about.

HE IS ALIVE!! HE WAS ALIVE ALL THIS WHILE! HE IS STILL ALIVE!!

"Tae!" he screamed as he tried to jump into the basement. But Namjoon and Mr. Jeon gasped loudly. Jungkook whipped his head towards the noise and followed their line of sight, only to find his mother passed out in Seokjin's arms, with Seokjin slightly slapping her face to wake her up.

"Kookie, Joon, you guys take care of Tae. Ajeossi, Jackson-ssi and I will take care of Ajeomma!" Seokjin said in a hurried tone.

Jungkook gave a curt nod before turning to the gaping hole in his bedroom floor from where he could see his Taehyung whimper continuously with chains tying him to a bed and an IV attached to his hand.

Before he could jump, Namjoon pulled him back. "Get a ladder. I don't want you spraining your leg by jumping this height. We already have enough on our plate. We can't waste time taking care of an unnecessary sprain" Namjoon said.

"Right" Jungkook said and sprinted out of the house to get the ladder from the backyard. He stumbled into the house, carrying the huge ladder on his shoulder.

He noticed that his mother was awake, but he couldn't help but let it pass his mind. His love was right under him, very much alive and suffering, while all he did was cry and grieve his 'death'.

Namjoon helped him lower the ladder through the hole and the two of them were sprinting towards Taehyung's bed within a couple of minutes.

"Tae! Oh my god! Baby! Eom-" "Tae!!!" he heard Taehyung's mother scream from above. He whipped his head towards the hole on the ceiling of the basement, only to find Mrs. Kim climbing down the ladder.

"NO! Stay right there! We don't want any more trouble here. Stay right there and call an ambulance. The police is already on the way" Namjoon said, remembering the emergency call he had made to the Busan Police Station.

Mrs. Kim realized that she was going to be an unnecessary nuisance down there and climbed back up and called an ambulance immediately, with tears running down her face.

Jungkook had already pulled the IV out of Taehyung's hand. He tried his best to free the chains, but they were too strong.

Taehyung was still lying with his eyes closed.

Namjoon climbed up the ladder immediately and poked his head out of the hole. "Mr. Jeon! Do you have any tool to open up metal chains?" he asked.

"Ohh! Yeah, I do" he said, picking up the tool required and running forward to pass it to Namjoon. "Please come down and do it yourself. We don't know how to do it and we don't have the time to test our skills" Namjoon said.

For a second, Mr. Jeon understood why Namjoon became such a successful officer. His voice and words held an ultimate power that no one could go against.

He hurried down the ladder, only to find his son sobbing with his head on Taehyung's chest. He sighed sadly and began to work on the chains immediately.

"Tae! TAE! Oh my god! Tae! It's me!" Jungkook suddenly exclaimed. Namjoon, who had been standing with his gun facing the entrance of the room just in case the commotion woke Dae Shin up, turned back and noticed Taehyung's open eyes.

He sighed and turned back towards the door, ready to shoot the guy's leg down if he tried to enter the room.

Jungkook could swear he was going crazy with the weight of the situation trying to settle into him. "Taehyung-ah! It's me, baby" he said, trying to get into Taehyung's field of vision when he noticed that Taehyung made no effort to turn towards his face.

"Tae-yah" he called again. It was as if Taehyung didn't even realize that someone was calling him.

Jungkook reached out and turned his face to the side gently. He cupped his face and tried again. "Taehyung-ah, it's me! Kookie" he said once Taehyung made eye-contact with him.

"Who?" Taehyung managed to croak out in a whisper. "Me! Kookie! Jungkook! Your boyfriend!" Jungkook exclaimed frantically. He had no idea how he was holding himself up anymore.

"Who?" Taehyung asked again, in a whisper weaker than the earlier one. "Your boyfriend, love. Your love! Don't you remember me? Your Kookie! Your Jungkookie!" Jungkook exclaimed, his eyes frantically scanning Taehyung's head to check whether he got knocked on his head.

"No" Taehyung whispered again before closing his eyes. Jungkook could literally, physically feel his heart crumble into a million pieces and fall onto the floor.

'No! No, no, no, no, no! There is no way he could forget about me! No, NO, NO, NO, NO' he thought. "Kookie, calm down. He is under the influence of a drug" Namjoon said from the door. Jungkook frowned for a second before realizing that he must have voiced his thoughts out loud.

"Tae" he croaked with a lump in his throat. "Tae, wake up. Don't sleep, baby. Tae. Wa-" "Done" Mr. Jeon said. "Tae!" Jungkook tried to sit him up, but Taehyung was no better than a rag doll.

"Take him up. Put him on your back and tie his hands around your neck. Mr. Jeon, hold him from behind while Jungkook goes up. Ask Jackson and Jin to take him once you reach the top" Namjoon said, still staring at the entrance.

"Can't we just wait for the ambulance to come?" Jungkook asked, not wanting to strain his boyfriend. "No. Dae Shin may come at any moment. We don't know if he is armed. We can't risk him trying to hurt Taehyung once he realizes that we are trying to get him out" Namjoon said.

Seokjin and Jackson, who were already listening to everything that was happening in the basement from above, ran to get a long scarf to tie Taehyung's hands round Jungkook's neck.

"Kookie, hurry up. It has already been too late" Seokjin said, throwing the scarf down. Mr. Jeon ran to get the scarf while Jungkook put Taehyung on his back and pulled his hands around his neck.

This was it.

He was going to save his boyfriend from the literal hell hole that he had somehow ended up in.

He promised to himself that he would stay strong for Taehyung.

Taehyung needed him right now.

He needed to be there for him.
